Tower Bar Vibes

I read somewhere that strut tower braces reduce chassis vibrations along with their stiffening qualities. Is this true for the users out there?
If so, might this be an partial remedy for the everpresent squeeks and rattles that plague so many of our cars? Has anyone noticed this to be true?

I just installed the M7 STB a couple of days ago.

I originally was interested in it for the strut reinforcment plates. The M7 STB is the only STB I have seen that really has the SRP ability and the STB.
I finally talked my wife into letting me get the SRP before x mas with the mushrooming scare and the car would be ruined if we did not install SRP's soon. Then I met up with Peter from M7 and just had to get the STB for an extra $100.

I have been frustrated by the squeaks and rattles in my car since I bought the car. I am notoriously obsessed with hunting these down and killing them!

I can say that I am very happy with the M7 STB, and yes is has helped the squeaks and rattles.

The whole front end of the car just feels "tighter". There are less rattles, squeaking, vibration and twisting throughout the front end. Even the dashboard is quieter. I have not really had a chance to test the performance/handling improvments, as it has been raining here in Socal... but I can tell that they are there for sure. It feels more planted and direct.

I am very happy with this mod. The quality and appearance of it is top notch. Also, like I said before.... kill 2 birds with one stone... get the M7 and prevent mushrooming and tighten up the whole front end in 1 purchase. You wont be disappointed!

Just make sure that you break out the paint pen and highlight the M7 logo in the center of it for the Works look. I have not posted pics of mine yet, but look at Mariokarts post about it. I did his silver in about 10 mins! Its super easy as it is recessed.

GET IT!!!!!

Thanks for the info motonikki812 --- I just happened to be on the M7 page a minute ago and couldn't quite tell if the SRP was integrated into the STB.

I think I know what my 1st aftermarket purchase will be!

Also, is the STB a bolt on? Was installation fairly easy?

It is a very easy install and you can always call the office with any questions. It is 6 nuts on and 6 back on. the only tick is to torgue them between 20 and 25 ft lb, NO MORE ! On some cars some people notice thatthe back of the hood may be lifted a little. there are several threads with ways to minimize that. Again feel free to call the office or my cell.

also make sure that the big hex head bolts on the ends of the bar are loose at the time you are fitting it up.If there has been any mushrooming at all to the towers this will allow you line everything up first... then tighten the bar to the plates.

I installed mine with more than 25 ftlbs to the strut bolts. The recommended torque just felt way to loose, like they were just going to rattle off. What is the importance of that setting?? Anyone?? Randy??

The stock bolts will strip or snap EASILY. Been there and done that .These nuts do not need to be really that tight unless you spend a lot of time air borne and your suspesion is hanging free in space. Under normal conditions the bolts are being pushed up into the strut tower so the nuts are acting more as keepers and not really under a lot of stress. Keep from taking any extended jumps and you should be ok with -25 ft lb

put some loctite blue if you want to or get some nylon backed
lock nuts from Acehardware or something.

i take my 1/4 or 3/8 drive short handle ratchet and tighten it snug without
cranking it.

Thanks Randy.....

I s000 get it now... This totally falls under one of those.... Oh yah, duh!

Anyhoo....

THE M7 STRUT TOWER BRACE IS KILLER!

GET IT!

BTW....i just installed my new TSW ED tonight and got to go for a good test run....

I first installed it at the shipped, pre set position. To be honest.. I was a little bummed....

I then cranked it down, right until I got vibration in the steeringwheel.. Then backed it off a smidge, until the vib was gone.

OMG. It is night and day! This is exactly what I have been looking for.
It feels soooo good.

GET THAT TOO!

Pics to come
