injector failure?

anyone had p0313 along with a specific cyl. misfire? p 0313 is low fuel and is specific to cyl. 4 misfire . where does the car determine a low fuel condition exists? o2 sensor? if so can i assume a bad injector?

How about running a couple of tanks of gas with fuel system cleaner/injector cleaner thru it, clear the code and then see if it comes back?

May be a clogged injector; try the cleaner method first and work your way up from there.

tried all that for a while now. was waiting for it to become steady rather than intermittent. turns out it was my screamin' deamon coil . swapped the plugs;nothin' ; swapped the deamon and off and runnin' . so maybe #4 is the one the computer spits out when there's a problem with that halfe of the coil. don't know . still don't understand the low fuel thing. i've been adding injector cleaner for about 5 tanks now.

Goes to show that the codes aren't always that helpful. Glad you found the problem.

Injectors get dirty...

but rarely fail. The seals can dry and you can get a vacuum leak as well. For cleaning them, I sent mine off to Witch Hunter Performance (I think it's www.witchhunter.com) for cleaning and flow testing. They replaced the seals and the intake filters, and ultrasonically clean the pintel/seal while squirting stuff through them. Then they flow test them. Mine came back matching to 1.1% high to low. I think it was $60, including shipping.

Follow the wiring harness for the injectors and unplug and clean the connectors in the harness. I had a car with this same problem and just unplugging and reconnecting did the job. Good luck.
