P0108 Code - definitive causes?

P0108 "Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input"

Car goes in for various work. Dealer calls & says their scan tool is detecting intermittent Tmap/map sensor errors. He chooses to replace both the Tmap & map sensors.

I get the car back, go for my first drive. Feeling a bit frisky I bring the revs to 6750 - engine light comes on. I drive back to the dealer & have the fault code read: P0108.

I'd never had this occurrence prior to replacement of said Tmap/map sensors. What are the odds that I went from not great to bad or worse?

Does this sound like defective T/map sensor(s)? & How common are faulty sensors?

I'd say it probably isn't common. The only times I've heard of folks having that fault code are when they are running small pullies (mostly 19% or a similar ratio of the crank/supercharger pullies) or otherwise higher boost levels.

If you are under warranty, I'd say you'll need to make another trip back to the dealer. Good luck.

Thanks Scott

Interestingly the car's only got a 15%... no other significant mods (at the mo')... so dunno where the this could be comming from... just ODD. Being that (I assume from your comment) you've run into or heard about this fault with 19%, can you tell me where?... Was it in a thread here, or personal experience or through an aquaintance?

TIA

Personal experience with a 19%. I just clear it myself using the Scangauge II. If that is the reason the code was thrown, it should also clear itself after three restarts.

I have a similar problem. Every time I hit a certain mph my light comes on. The code is P0108, both times. It has done it twice now and at the same speed both times. But after 3 restarts it clears itself, although the code still stays in the computer. I am running a 17%, miltek cat-back, and ALTA CAI. Does anyone know exactly why this light comes on? And if there is a way to fix it so it won't come on?

Hey all, I talked to Helix about this code. According to them it is an overboost code. When your supercharger hits 18psi or more this code will come up. And after 3 restarts it should go away. Now that is only one reason why this can come on (I am assuming, if I am wrong in doing so someone please let me know.) I am sure that if you have a problem with the MAP sensor or some other sensor then this code will come on and stay on.

I am running the 17% but if this is truly what is causing minimc's problem then yes he is making AWESOME boost for only a 15%!! But if I were him I would still double check that it is NOT a TMAP sensor and any other sensor problem.

That... or I've got restriction within the system, and my s/c is effectively attempting to inflate the intake manifold, like a balloon .
