TB/BPV housing rusting

Hello All:

I wonder if you guys see this as well. There's rust stain developing on the TB housing. You will see an area perfect for water storage (reservior) if you look straight down between the IC cover and intake duct. The area is so tight, it's impossible for me to clean the rust. I thought the housing is made in aluminimum, how come it's so easy to develope rust???

Do you guys have any suggestion? Do you think it will get worse if left alone? Just in case someone suggests, I don't have dough to replace an aftermarket unit.

Thank you for your help.

try spraying some wd40 in there to protect it from getting worse.
