Noisy brake pedal?

Noisy brake pedal?
I'll start off by saying that driving my 2007 MC is a lot different than driving my 2005 MC. It's taking me longer to get used to the R56 than it did my R53.
Now to my question. Does your R56 have a noisy brake pedal? Sometimes it clicks as I remove my foot and sometimes it makes a slight clunking sound. And the pedal feels very different from the R53; it's hard to explain, but I think I can feel it when it "clicks" and "clunks". Have other R56 drivers experienced this? Because if you haven't, I'm bringing it in to the dealer as I find it annoying. But if it's normal, I guess I'll just have to get used to it. Oh, I'm not sure it matters but I have an automatic.

Edited to add, I still have less than 700 miles on the car, so if the noise does go away, maybe it's too soon.

SO, I have a 2010 S with about 3000 miles. My brake pedal makes similar noises.
When the pedal is released suddenly, there is a slight whooosh sound and a clunk as the pedal arm reaches its stop. The whooosh and clunk can be prevented by keeping my foot on the pedal and gently returning the pedal to its stop point. I don't recall that the pedal made this noise before now.
I haven't made it to the dealership yet to get their opinion of this noise.
Since the brake system otherwise functions normally, I don't know if this a problem or a normal brake pedal sound.
Anyone have any ideas?

OK guys...There is nothing wrong with your MINI's and no need to waste your time taking it to the dealer. You are simply experiencing the the Hill Hold Function of your brakes. I LOVE this feature.
Your MINI senses the incline of a hill using a sensor in the Dynamic Stability Control yaw sensor. If your are facing up hill and release the brakes, after about 2 seconds you will hear the brake pedal click or may feel it. Same goes if you are facing down hill and are in reverse. This is to hold your MINI in place so you can get started without rolling forward or back.
You'll also notice the sound/sensation this if you're in neutral, have the clutch and brake held then place your car in gear.
It's a normal characteristic and nothing to be alarmed about. The first generation MINI did not have this feature.

I found an illustration of a brake pedal mechanism (see below). Note the "pedal stop adjustment nut" at the superior aspect of the brake pedal arm just above the spring. This is not a Mini Cooper but it's pretty close. I can feel something like the illustration if I follow the brake pedal arm with my hand. I suppose I could fool with the adjusting pin myself but if the adjustment affects the master cylinder retraction position or prevents excessive snap ring banging or whatever..., I'm going to let the dealership adjust it. Brecht is giving me a loaner while they evaluate it. I'm pretty sure it's an adjustment that takes about 5 minutes but I'll take the loaner and hit Valley View. {My wife got a Royal Flush with 5 quarters in last week! $1000}
I'll let you know what Brecht says/does.
The brake pedal should have an adjustable return stop on it when a strong pedal return spring is used. This prevents the master cylinder from excessively banging the snap ring stop inside the master cylinder bore (visible under the rubber boot). Adjust the stop so the pedal stops returning at the point when the master cylinder piston retracts against the snap ring,

I did find that I didn't like the way the brakes grabbed. It felt over-assisted like a Buick my Mom once owned. After a couple thousand miles I got fed up with the amount of brake dust the OEM pads generate and switched to Carbotech 1521 Bobcat pads. The brake feel (modulation) improved greatly with these pads.

My wife's 2012 Cooper Hardtop has 28K miles on it and been doing that since we got it.
With a mirror and flash light I've checked the pedal mechanism and don't find any bump stop.
Every time you lift your foot off the brake it clunks as it returns to its rest position.
