I just purchased my 2003 BRGa/W two weeks ago and the warranty covered for two months but 4 years/50,000 already expired. I just call 866 ASK MINI after I heard some reports about CVT issue. He said that if my car have a problem with CVT, it will be take care because it is on recall only if that is a specific one. The recall was on 6/12/06 from Brecht MINI. Have you heard of this about CVT recall?

Also, where can I find some info about the list of recalls on 2003 MINI? So far I know is just one, rear shock absorber, something like that. Thanks.

Also recalls are dependent on build dates. I just found out about the suspension recall last week and called my local dealer. They were able to pull up the entire maintenance history of the car based on my VIN, going back to what was done under the previous owner. Turned out that the suspension recall didn't affect my build date, but that there were other recalls and TSBs that were taken care of--they stated I had no "open campaigns" on my car which made me feel a bit better. It looks like the CVT oil issue was a TSB and not a recall.

 

If your concerned with the possiblity of your vehicle falling within a recall, call your MSA [mini service advisor] and ask them to check your vehicle for recalls, all you need to do is provide them with the last 8 digits of the VIN. This will clear up any questions you may have!!!
