Suspension Gallery! Show me your lowered MINI!
#551
Thanks for the compliments. I managed to get the front a little lower, but I haven't managed to find a source for balljoint extenders. My subframe is 1-2mm off the ground. The balljoint extenders should be just enough to get the car on the ground. I just hope I can find a company that will offer the right parts.

Better asked in his build thread and not cluttering up this Gallery thread. He keeps that thread pretty well updated anyway. If you are not seeing it, it's likely because he's not interested in sharing all of his hard earned secrets about the air ride suspension.

Yah, my M|U thread has every picture I've ever taken in regards to this car posted in there. It's worth checking out I've got pics of the custom plates installed on the bags in there, but not installed in the car. You can't really see them when installed in the car. Just the tops which look pretty much stock.

The only thing that can be adjusted on the front is basically toe in/out. However, what I did with my MINI and my H&R coils is there is a plastic clip that goes in to keep the stock alignment area when you bolt the coils on...I removed that little plastic clip (more like it broke off anyways), and allowed me to get a little bit more camber in the fronts.
Short of camber plates, I believe thats all you can do for the front

empire0007 - it seems like some coilovers allow for camber adjustment (comes with adjustable camber plates) and some don't. I haven't done too much research since coilovers are out of my price range.
I just ordered H&R springs and adjustable camber plates. Then comes the 22mm rear sway bar. That should hold me over until I save up for coilovers.

Must say the NM springs actually improved not only the looks but the ride quality as well. Good luck with your springs!
