Max looks nice! I'm diggin the factory aero with the webspokes on your clubman. The carbon bits kinda hide, but are noticed upon closer inspection.
I hope to install my coilovers soon, all i need is a dry day off of work and some spring compressors. Neither are easy to find here in Spain at the moment! Thanks for contributing and Motor On!

H&R Touring Cup Kit installed today..

Impressions?

First impression when I drove up was WOW, that sucker is sitting LOW (it was backed into a parking space). The front is definitely down significantly. I now have really lousy ground clearance, which of course I knew was part of the bargain. Scraped going into my driveway, which has VERY little lip/incline. That was a bit distressing. The rear is down but visually not as much as the front. I didn't take measurements so I don't know for sure how much each end dropped.

Driving impressions? I've only driven the 10 miles home but initial impressions are very positive. As I knew would be the case, ride quality actually improved, the shocks are now actually doing something (yay!), the springs feel just about the same as stock, and turn-in is awesome, from my limited few turns. I'll take him up into the hills tomorrow for a good run. The shocks are set at full soft (remember these are simply grey-painted Koni Yellows, and as such are rebound-adjustable) and that feels about right to my old ***. The fronts can be adjusted from the engine bay, but the rears would have to come off to adjust. Perhaps I'll adjust for wear later on as the shocks age.

The Kit was $600 from Alta as part of their holiday sale. SMOKIN' deal. Thanks guys.

More impressions tomorrow after a good canyon run, and probably a few nice location pictures from Canyon Lake.

For a race truck that doesn't have to be used daily, sure. You cut the springs, you lose coils, giving you a horrible ride. Some people swear up and down against it and how dangerous it is... well yes it does weaken the spring somewhat, but people did that plenty of years before they made lowered springs you could buy at a hardware store these days.

But yes, some people still even do it today. I've heard of people cutting some coils from their coil overs to get them even lower.

Yeah, this guy did!

"Cutting My Springs" sung to "My Favorite Things" (from "The Sound of Music")

Bright bluish foglights and big yellow stickers
Turn up the volume my headlights will flicker
I think I look cool from the attention I bring...
Scraping the speed bumps from cutting my springs.

Large yellow shift lights on auto transmissions,
Speakers so loud that you'll scream in submission
My car really flies 'cause it has this big wing...
But nothing compares to me cutting my springs.

When the bull stops, when the money talks, when I might lose face...
I suddenly remember what my car can't do, and then I refuse to race!

Day-glow orange shift ***** and whiteface temp gauges
Low profile tires make me think I'm courageous
Japanese characters, who knows what they mean?
They're part of the package from cutting my springs.

Coffee can mufflers and Calvin is peeing
People around me don't like what they're seeing
They're all just so jealous, for I am the king...
I rule the street after cutting my springs!

When the night falls, when the girls leave, while I wait and wait...
If I'm such a stud after cutting my springs, why can't I get a date?

I expect that if you took a picture with someone sitting in the front seat the clearance in the rear would be much less. When I did rolling shots of mine I noticed I was tucking serious tire in the rear when in all my other pictures it never did.

How did you do your rolling shots? Do you have a rig set and/or you have a buddy pace you? I guess this is off topic. Oh well

What exactly am I scraping up front? Hopefully only that lower lip extension? Do I have any halfassed clearance to the oil pan and other more important underbody areas? I'm a bit distressed at how easily I now scrape. Entering my driveway even at a crawl it's hard not to scrape. I'm already thinking of ratcheting up the front Konis to a slight bit more rebound control, which might help in some situations.

New shots from this afternoon. I need to go back at sunset or dawn, funky lighting in the middle of the day. Most of these were taken in Superior, AZ, which has been home to many movie shoots, including The Gauntlet, U-Turn, Prophecy, and Eight Legged Freaks.

No doubt about it you got a sweet ride. Here is question, your trim along the edge is white did you paint it? or have it professionally done?

What trim are you referring to? That's all factory. If you mean the wheel arches, they're body color with the aero kit.

It's likely the plastic diffuser piece that's under your front bumper. I scraped on that thing at stock height. Here's a reference picture:

For our rolling shots I had my brother drive my car while I was in a pace car driven by my wife.
