/drool! I have a dumb question. Do you have any issue with the tire rubbing the wheel arch at all? I really love the look of your MINI sooper, but since I am new to the lowering thing, I just want to know. I am so used to putting air under the vehicle (lifted Jeeps) but making it lower is all new to me. Thanks for any input.

I'm running 235s with a spacer in the front so there was some rubbing at first. Now that the tire has naturally "rolled the fender" so to speak, there's no more rubbing.

If you ran a thinner tire without a spacer you probably won't have any rubbing at all.

Why do you have the spacer? To clear the coils?

Right on both. I need the spacer to clear both the coils and the larger JCW calipers.

That is a well done MINI sooper. Space Blue? I used to not be a fan of the Rotas but now, I really like them.

Thanks! It's actually an Astro Black. I brought out some of the blue undertones in post processing.

I think the RBs do look good on the Mini. I see so many cool wheels though, if I was rich I'd own about 4 sets and change them out every few weeks.

Sooper cooper. Your Mini has been one of my favs. The Rotas & Astro combo set it apart IMO. My runflats are about done so it's time for wheels & tires. Are you on 235/45's or 40's & what tires are those? They look sinister! tnx

Thanks eldontxo! I'm running then Nitto NT05, 235/40s.
The NT05 is a great summer performance tire, they work wonders at the track and for spirited driving. They're a softer compound tire (tread wear 200) so depending on how many miles you drive per year they will probably need replacing in about 12, maybe 18 months.

Mine are about a year old and the fronts are almost bald already.

Is there a huge difference in running 205/40/17 or 205/45/17 tires on a 8 inch wheel? The wheels I'm look at are 17x8 et35 with a drop on kw v2 probably 1 finger gap all around. I can't decide if i want to go 40 or 45...... if anyone can chime in on the advantages of each that would be great. Im assuming the 45s will look funny?? but i wouldn't mind having a tad more comfort. Any help is appreciated!!
