I would never buy coilovers in Michigan, too many potholes. When getting the coilovers fixed, it gets expensive. If I lived in Cali, Texas, or any other warmer state, coilovers, mainly ST's would be my preferred choice but the Koni yellows/NM springs are a good choice if you live in an all four seasons state, IMO.

Here is a pic with my winter set-up. Going to install some BLQs 17x8 ET25... Some stretch and will be a right fit!

Aint that the truth! I live in Bloomfield Township and I can't believe how bad some of the roads are. Long Lake road would be a nice drive if there were n't undulations and ruts in the asphalt from those stupid buses with Joumana Kayrouz banners all over them I have banned driving my car in Southfield and some parts of Rochester Hills entirely. The only saving grace is country backroads

Everyone always says their roads are too bad for coilovers. I have daily driven my Mini on coilovers for over 4 years in southwest VA, Long Island/NYC and now Rochester without significant issue.
Its more about what you are willing to live with then it is about what is doable.

I do scrape, rub and tag my subframe from time to time on roads, but overall its not that bad and is generally a lot of fun.
Its not for everyone, but outside of 3 roads in DT LA I have yet to find one that was paved I couldnt get down.

thanks! i didnt even notice you were from virginia, as am I. Hampton roads are finally getting around to repairing their roads so i'm in the middle of getting springs.
how are they on the highway? any crazy "not sure the term" but random up and down movements? or does she stay planted?
i had (gold) tiens on my subaru and loved them. I knew the crappy (greens) tiens would do that highway thing I tried to describe.

They are just fine on the highway with no random up/down movements. Stays planted all the time, no drifting.
I've got gold tiens on my commuter car (2012 Prius). I scrape more in the Prius than I do in the MINI. Bwhahaha.

No offense taken Jaremy.
Like I said, it's the commuter car as I travel just under 2 hours (one way) to work everyday. Great gas mileage, saving money for sure. But I will say it's probably one of the best handling Prius's out there. Not that it even comes close to our two MINIs (my wife has a 2012 JCW Coupe with mods).

So,I bought my Mini in August 2012, I finally got to mount my wheels. The suspension I did a few weeks back. Had it sitting around all winter along with the wheels.
Here are some cell phone pics I took. I installed them just in time for a freezing rain storm. Hopefully the wheels won't corrode..
The wheels are Rotiform BLQ 17x8 ET25 w/ Yokohama S-Drives
The suspension set up is ST Coilovers

Thanks John
I havent forgotten about you bro. let me know when you're ready for the under engine tray. I will be taking the bumper off this weekend to install an M7 splitter and LED fog lights- I might just leave it off if you're ready for it... lmk

That is a good question...I would love to know this as well!

Asked over in the GP forum and here was the reply...
"I've already looked at this and they are the same as a standard JCW same part numbers, and when you look at them they look exactly the same".
Any ideas why some cars get vibrations and others don't?

Now I bought ST coilovers and barely anything vibrates. Only on strong second gear pulls sometimes.
What I did is I lowered it more and more one day at a time. I am already like 2.2" down probably.
Just try doing it that way. A little vibration won't hurt. It wears itself in over time.
Just lowered it some more up front in the garage. Lol pinky finger wheel gap all around.
