Good guys from PDX Mini Club (http://www.pdxmini.org/) installed the PSRS on the R56 a few days ago. Other than the difficulty of the installation, I don't see one downside to the vast improvement gained. M7 coilovers were installed at the same time and the car now has no torque steer in a straight line, no wheel hop, no darting around under acceleration and braking, and no more vagueness. I posted some pics of the PSRS installation in my gallery. Mini-Madness also helped get power to the ground and more solid shifting with the R56 polyurethane engine bushings.

do you think the install would go a lil better if you got the knuckles the psrs pressess into? i was checking the prices of them and there about $140 for the set shipped from pelican parts.

If I could only do one suspension mod, this would be it, or maybe the cross coilovers! I think Kirk sums it up nicely, I also had mine installed by pdxmini. The stock bushings will only worsen over time. I am told that these should last the life of the vehicle, with the added side benefit of super tight steering response. I have mine set for full caster and I was told by my local mini guru who did the install that with the added caster I could expect some additional understeer and that I should run a 22mm bar to counter it. I still need to bump my 19mm bar up to it's full stiff setting and hope for the best. I can also run my coilovers firmer in the rear.

That is odd! Lets not let that go unchecked. Best to check that everything is tight, including the set screws. If they are, then like the reply above, it is best to look at other sources.

Please let us know how we can help. But you will NOT have to put the OEM bushes back in place.

clunking from bumps is commonly the sway bar. It could be the sway bar endlinks are not properly torqued or possibly a sway bar bushing could have worked it's way out while the subframe was dropped. If it is the sway bar you should be able to reproduce the sound be putting all of your weight on each front fender compressing the suspension so it bounces a few times on each side. If that's the case get the car up on the lift to inspect and double-check the installation. I agree with Adam, the PSRS should not be causing this clunking sound and you shouldn't have to give it up to resolve the problem. In fact, my hunch is if you just swapped back to stock bushings you probably wouldn't solve the problem as it is coming from somewhere else.

I agree. I want to help him resolve whatever the issue is. I just think it should be something else.

Lets hope we can get this nailed for him ASAP!

Yesterday, i installed my psrs along with the front and rear end-links and rear sway-bar(19 mm). it seems same problem occurred with my ride too. now i will check the sway bar bushing an do the manual check stated above. but my guess is that the noise is coming from the psrs, but can't tell the result until go and get it checked with my ''best'' mechanic. (if the noise coming from swaybar i will have a lot to talk about )

A lot of people (including me, at one stage) forget that the endlink bolts have to be tightened by securing the back-end of the bolt (i.e behind the endlink itself) with a spanner or whatever, otherwise, it doesn't full tighten, and will make this clunking noise....

Good luck
