Suspension M7 STB on Clubman

M7 STB on Clubman
Anyone put an M7 Strut Tower Brace on a Clubman S yet? Is mushrooming an issue on the clubman as well? Did you notice any difference with the Clubman's cornering response, etc... with the STB? Any issues with installation? I've read that there isn't much thread actually holding the nut on...

In reading about STBs and mushrooming I get the impression that mushrooming was more a problem with the R53s, not with the R56s. One dude actually performed a before and after the brace using an alignment machine and found no difference, so he concluded that the front brace did zero as far as providing and significant rigidity for cornering goes.

I put on the M7 Strutbrace with the strut plates. The roads here are not the best, lots of pot holes due to weather and traffic. I put the plates on just for insurance and the strutbrace because I had the extra cash and it looked pretty nice. There are a few of good sweeping turns and a couple sharp ones on my way to work. I really have not noticed any difference. My Mini's front end still tends to skip a little at about 40 on the sharper turns. I'm sure that a drop, swaybars, underlink and replacing the runflats would go long way in helping to eliminate the problem. I probably won't drop my Mini due to the ride and bad roads here but will probably do the others.
