Alta 19mm rear antisway bar installed.

Installed Alta 19mm rear antisway bar past Saturday. With my front M7 strut tower brace, I had noticed significant decrease in torque steer but noticed exaggerated swaying of my rear during tight & fast turns. I bit the bullet & following advises of this forum, I changed the bar & put it on its middle setting.

After driving for last 2 days, I am very pleased with "crisp" turn in & easily controllable understeer with throttle during hard cornering. My rear end just became so much more predictable that I feel I have so much more "time" to further fine tune with throttle to lessen understeer

I might have to try the stiffest setting now .....

Now, how is that H&R springs......

I took an 'on my way home from work' on-ramp the other day at a speed that would've had the car plowing off the road with the stock bar. With my Alta 19 set on full stiff, the tail wagged, and then snapped back into line. Very cool.

hey guys and gals... I'm getting a nice deal on a invetory clubman that already has the sport suspension, do you think there's a market for the stock upgraded bar out there? or is it better to keep the upgraded stock bar in case you want to sell the car without the replacement bar?

I'm keeping all my OE parts for that very reason.

Same here. I have each part with the bolts in separate boxes, labeled of course! I'm keeping the car for years, but I woe the day when I have to put it all back together! Hopefully it will be a college chap who won't mind the aftermarket...

I have an Alta 19mm sway bar staring at me as we speak. It's getting slammed in this weekend (along with rear control arms and endlinks from Alta).

Hey Scooner8, how happy are you with the M7 bar in terms of fit and finish? I'd like to get one, but I've read of folks having issues with rubbing on other parts, incompatibility with some aftermarket CAI's etc.

Minitauro, Fit & finish are first rate. I have stock intake & the bar has about 3/4 inch clearance from air box. Driving in forward gears, I have no rubbing issues. Driving in reverse, I do hear rubbing noise at times when I am more aggressive. I opened the hood & verified where they rub & there are no significant damages. I figure, it's divine message for me to reverse out slooowly..... (My last two "bumps" were while driving in reverse).

I felt definite attenuation of torque steer with my STB. But, with your coilovers & lowering, you may already have decreased TS as is.

I'm gonna test the car this weekend with STB disconnected & see the difference.

I read that some with STB put felt where it rubs with filter box: I will eventually do something as well....

Frankie, it happens even when it's placed on the "forward" position. It rubs front top side of filter box.
