H&R wheel spacers listed in the Moss catalog.

Wondering if anybody has fittem them and what they experienced.

 

I put the 15mm spacers on my 2009 JCW and they work just fine. No rubbing and I like the way it looks.

 

Any pics? Always wanted to see a Mini with with 15mm spacers.

Very nice MiniBAH. How about rubbing and scrub radius?

 

No issues whatsoever with rubbing even though my rims are 18s with wider tires (215/40/18), but make sure to get the longer bolts that come with the spacers.

 

what tires are those on your mini minibah? Very aggressive!

the real question is what offset of wheel are you using in combo with the spacers????

 

Very high quality. TUV approved. Used it in my BMW 330 @ 10mm.

 

What's the difference in driving?

 

In my case, nothing. I don't know in the case of Mini.

 

Aren't you worried about wearing out your wheel bearings with the spacers

 

yeah 10 to 15mm seems like a lot, no?

Many issues with changing the offset of wheels -which is what the spacers do- and the change in scrub radius is the one that concerns me the most since it has a significant effect on handling and steering.

The Minis come with a variety of OEM wheel and tire options and one can chart the parameters of acceptable wheel offsets -OEM are from 45 mm to 52 mm- and decide on spacers and their size.

When calculating scrub radius consider that it is dependent on overall tire diameter.

I am keeping my OEM wheels -until I find a <13 lb 16" wheel- but I am going to taller tires -205/55X16- and so I will be installing a 5 mm spacer to maintain my OEM scrub radius.

Now I have to find 5 mm longer bolts in black.....

I just bought OZ Alleggerita 17inch wheels at 13.8 lbs. I'm sure the 16s are much lighter if your looking for a light weight wheel, just an fyi! The wheels I got are at a 38mm offset, should I get 5mm spacers too?

 

How well do those babies handle in the twistys?

 

I would say pretty decent, but not as good as the Michelin PS2s on my M Coupe... The grip on the PS2s is ridiculous!

No Alleggeritas in 16". The lightest 7X16" at the Tire Bandits is the Enkei RPF1 at 13.7 lbs.

As far as your wheels the offset is listed at 37 mm -and the weight at 14.2 lbs- so they have a back space of 138 mm versus the 143 mm on a stock 6.5X16. If your tires are the same diameter as the OE tires you are good since you get 5 mm more backspace to compensate for 1/2 of the extra 12.7 mm of added wheel width = 6.35 mm. You are within 1.35 mm which is good.

Some people make light of this whole thing and some do not. Long diatribe saved.

 

With 17" and 38mm offset wheels, you probably will not have much extra room in the rear. It depends on your tire width and how much your car is lowered. On my 2003 MCS I had 17x7-38 offset with 215/40-17 tires, lowered with H&R springs, and had slight rubbing in the rear. You should not have any problem adding 5mm spacers on the front.
