Suspension front sway bar install
#2
I will say it is not an easy task.....nothing like the rear one.
I replaced the rear one with HSport Hollow 25mm bar, and then just upgraded the OEM front sway bar's bushings with those made by Powerflex. It is a great combination and for me, put adding a new front sway bar at the very bottom of my modding list.

Yes, just use the instructions to replace the front control arm bushings and while you have the subframe down pull the swaybar out. But def. replace the control arm bushings at the same time as the front swaybar. It's a job you don't want to do twice.
The Hsport front swaybar and Powerflex bushings would be what I recommend.

no, but you do have to drop the front lower subframe if my memory serves me right. Id listen to way on this one though...
just one look at the front sway bar bolt locations and you'll start to think.. wtf, how do i get THAT out... and the answer is not easy. The question came up for me when it got in the way of me installing my header. (not on a car lift). so instead i jsut removed the heat shields and pused the power steering lines out of the way for a lil bit...
but if i remember right.. you have to drop the lower sub frame and knock off the lower control arms. and while your there, may as well as replace those bushings....

"Do I need to take front sway bar out in order to replace bushings to Powerflex ones?"
Out? No, but you still need to follow the same steps as for replacing the control arm bushings - the bolts that hold the bushing carriers in place also hold the the sway bar 'mounts' (the s/b mounts 'piggyback' on top of the LCA bushing carriers) - (2 cents) if you haven't replaced the LCA bushings now (or at the same time) would be a GREAT idea ...

I agree. The front end is tight enough, and front bar is large enough even when running the HSport Hollow 25MM rear bar. The weak link is the rear bar and is where I would start. Then just upgrade the front sway bar bushings for now with the Powerflex brand.
Save that extra money for another mod....like Powerflex Front Control Arm Bushings.....A really fantastic upgrade.
