Do all aftermarket coilovers need spacers..

..or does it depend on the aftermarket wheels?

Depends both on the wheels and the design of the coil over itself. Some do some don't . For example ours come close but do not require a spacer. I have also had two sets of LEDA shocks and a set of KW that did not require spacers.

My short answer is NO --Do all aftermarket coilovers need spacers --

But this question is way to broad -- It depends on the brand of coilovers, the type of spring used (beehive or straight), the wheel/tire size, and the wheel offset.

I am asking because from what i saw(KW's and M7 coilovers, which i am most interested in) people required spacers because when lowered the perches rubbed the tire.

these are the wheels on the car(will update on what kind since i forgot :-( )

the tire size is 225/45/17

My KW V2s with straight springs & 225/45/17 tires -- 42 offset worked fine without spacers --- very close -- but ok.
