15mm Feedback- Questions for you guys

What are you current 15mm spacer setups, I ordered kw's with 15mm in all 4 corners. I am on the stock crown spokes and tires so im thinking im gonna rub .

Any advice/ suggestions?

Please post your setups with 15mm so i can have something to take in to consideration.

I'm on H&R springs with 15mm spacers all the way around. Not sure if it would rub if I were to go lower, as the wheels/tires are flush with the fenders now.

I dint think you'll be able to run the 15mm spacers in back. I tried and it too and it was way too wide. In fact, I now have an extra set of 15mm H&R spacers with lug bolts for sale if anyone's interested...

You might want to reconsider the rear spacers. Once you install them you can't return them.

I think my limitation / cause for rubbing then will be determined on how low i go.

True. I shouldn't assume it wouldn't work in every situation. If you plan to go low though and you put on some wide tires it's something to keep in mind.

I'd recommend you get it set up how you want and then swap your spacers on the front to the rear before installing the new set. That way if it doesn't work you'll still be able to return them.

If I knew then what I know now I could have saved $150.

Here's another angle (crappy iPhone camera photo) from the front. You can see how the spacers wouldn't have worked on the back wheels for me. With the 15mm in the front and none on the back the tires line up perfectly with the fender wells all the way around.

You have a 235 tire though right?

That angle looks sweet! I bet the rear booty stance is perfect.

True, I'm running 235s so that's a big reason why I can't use the spacers in the back. Rated M has them and it looks great.

The stance from behind looks awesome! The tires are really wide and the little bit of negative camber adds to it nicely. Plus, the 4" Magnaflow tips complete the look perfectly!

What are there advantages on the handling front? Do any of you guys track the car with such a wide stance? Any ill effects on the wheel bearings etc?

using spacers is the same as getting wheels with less off set.

Fixed it by raising 10mm's until the vibration was gone... FTW!

Hey, digging up an old thread but this is almost the exact same situation I am in.

I have a stock suspension wise R56 with the 17x7 Crown spokes on 215/45/17 yokos and I want to push all of the wheels out to be flush with the fenders.

Now remember that I have stock suspension so I am riding the OEM height, does anyone think that there would be an issue with the 15mm in the rear coming out too far?

Current situation

I don't think you'll have too much issues with fitting or rubbing...because R56 stock ride height is so high, although it will stick out a bit past the fenders.

..a while back, I had S-lites on car (same et48 as crown spokes) with 12mm spacers and 215/45s, stock height then, ...only had 1 time with a small rub, when I had 2 passengers in car and went over a sharp dip in road.

..your setup would only be 3mm farther out...if you like the look..cool, I wasn't so thrilled with it...glad to be finally lowered a bit.

Since we're on subject of wheel spacers - I have a question:

I'm gonna order some new wheels (that use OEM bolts) I want to order some 5mm spacers with 'em, ....if I used my longer lug bolts from my 12mm spacers, is that gonna have potential for any prob's? bolts too long?

..note: I recently had my wheels off, and tested the bolts with just the spacers on the hub...and they went all the way in..and butted up to the spacer.

Well I took some measurements and it looks as if with the stock height the face of the wheel/tire is aprox 5/8ths of an inch away from being flush with the fender which is 0.625 inches or 15.87mm. So the wheels should still be set into the fender about 0.87mm or 0.035 of an inch or essentially flush

Now, this would be with the stock height but if I lower the car then I would either need to put smaller spacers on I'm guessing either 10 or 12 mm or Invest in some camber plates, Correct?

..some if it depends on how much lower...

"Bigprfed22" has made it work with the 15mm spacers and lowered (looks awesome!)

..would be interesting to know what..or if..camber adjustments were made, and also not sure of his tire size..sidewall height.

...as for front -camber, ..either plates, or the guide pin removal/strut shift that is possible on R56 for a small amount.
