Anyone know of a strut brace to fit a 2012 R56?

I was told by a vendor that the M7 tower strut brace will not fit a 2012... Does anyone know of anything that fits with the "anti-mushrooming" plates?

Also, I'd like one with anti-mushrooming plates, not the JCW type that only bolts on with no plates.

There's not really a reason to have the anti-mushrooming plates in an R56.

Yes the NM Engineering tie bar will fit 2011 and newer R55,R56,R57 Cooper S. I just put one on a brand new car last weekend.

Oh yeah we have it in Red too.

Save your money and put it towards something else. The Mini chassis is very rigid and unless you are tracking the car, you won't even know you have an STB. And mushrooming was an R53 issue if I'm correct. I sold my STB 1 week after I bought it because it made no difference to the daily drive. Just my $.02...

Definitely noticed the difference on my 2 convertibles but their chassis are not as rigid. Not sure what I will do with the CMS on order.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be an ***. Go ahead and spend $300 on a STB. It's your money. Just trying to help. As I said, I put it on, didn't notice a difference. I took it off, didn't notice a difference. Changed to Koni yellows and 22mm rear sway bar...HUGE DIFFERENCE! The problem is the stock shocks and struts! But as Porthos says, it's your money...

Thanks for all the replies! I wasn't aware mushrooming wasn't an issue on an R56... I had the DINAN FSB on my R53 and it made a huge difference, but if mushrooming isn't an issue, it may be something I can live without.

Thanks!

i have 2011 MCS. NM bar fits perfectly, not sure about 2012, but i am almost positive it is the same car. i did manage to mushroom my strut tower (prior to NM FSB), but it was a huge a$$ pothole - to the point that one of the strut bolts snapped

This is exactly the feedback I was looking for. I don't track my car, but was wondering if I'd feel the difference on my daily drive. I could certainly put the money to better use. Thanks

NM made a revision to the Front upper stress bar for 2012 (Revision made November 2011). And we got the RED one. Still I don't think you need it for daily driving.
