HELP! Is something broke?

Please read this whole thing before you respond.

So, last night on my way home over VERY familiar road, at 50-75mph, I felt a strange sensation in the steering. It felt very similar to when a combination of the road and tire characteristics causes the tires to "track" into ruts or grooves and just slight depressions in the road surface. As though the car sort of pulls slightly to the left or right. The feeling is sudden, but pretty subtle. Almost like a severe gusting cross wind.

What makes that strange is that these tires on this road have NEVER done that before; and there was NO wind. Same thing in parts of my ride today, but on various other portions of my commute.

Here's the rest of the story. I have SPC camber plates and Koni FSD struts. The plates are probably going on 60K miles. For quite some time, I have had groans, clunks and pops coming from the left front when steering hard left or right -- mostly, when standing still and cranking the wheels one way or the other, but sometimes alsos while in motion, forward or back, but only when turning. An acquaintance told me this was a noise resulting from wear in the spherical bearings of the plates(?) It didn't bother me - much. However, I have realized today that I haven't heard that noise recently. I am wondering if whatever was binding, or snagging or whatever to make that noise just finally broke? I tried to move the front wheel in and out today, but it had weight on it, so it did not budge, and I inspected the top of the strut towers and everything looks normal. But that wierd tracking is still going on and the groaning and clunking steering noise has stopped.

Do you think something broke (or wore completely out)? If so, anyone have a thought as to what it might be?

Thanks for any thoughts anyone might have.

Also, I like the looks, the advertised features, and the good "word of mouth" about Vorschlag's R53 camber plates. I think it's time for a replacement.

Anyone have similar experience? Or other wear experience with the SPC plates or positive results from replacement of same?

Thanks again.

Really the wrong section. This is R56 country.

But... I'd check tire pressure first. Then get the car on a lift and start looking.

Do you have run flats? Could you have lost pressure in one wheel? Check your CV JOINTS for tears, and the wheel hub for a bad bearing.

Check your tire pressures. Mine does the same thing and I'm on RF's and stock suspension. AS soon as the psi goes below a certain point, my starts tramlining. Reinflate and she's like a new car all over again.
