Lowering and xenons.

Threw mach v springs on my 2012 r56 today and immediately noticed the xenons did not auto adjust for the height difference. They point down a tiny bit more now. My 2008 did not do this with same springs, although I had the regular head lights.

I thought they were supposed to auto adjust for height? Can I adjust them? Searched around this thread but did not find much.

I thought they were auto leveling, so even if you lower the car but are still level, it doesn't do anything.
It shouldn't point up higher since it has no idea how high or low you are, but only if level or not.

Yeah I thought they were supposed auto adjust. They did not, if I push slightly on them from the back they go where they should be. May have to consult the dealer I suppose.

You can't use the adjustment nuts to re-aim them?

Hmm have a quick how to do it? First time with xenons and don't want to break them! Do you just remove the headlight housing and then remove the nuts below the ballast?

Are you sure the springs don't give you a forward rake stance?
If the car leans towards the nose, the auto-leveling will not help you.
You will have to adjust the beam pattern via the vertical adjustment screw on the headlight assembly.

I believe that is the problem with the springs. I tried to look through the back cover for the screw. Do you have to remove the headlight cover to access it? Anyone have a ic of the screw?

Nothing needs to be roomed to adjust, just open the hood. If you look straight down on the light fixture and move toward the inside of the engine bay, you will see a little hole with a white plastic phillips head. Turning this will adjust the aim height of the beam. If my memory serves me, clockwise will raise and counter-clockwise lowers but I may be mistaken.

Just a slight turn will make a noticeable adjustment. It took me about a half hour of adjusting and driving around until I felt I had it correct. (I do realize there are 'proper' adjustments and a set distance the beam is supposed to travel before hitting the ground)

Hope this helps! If not, I can always post a pic tomorrow after work

Beautiful! I knew there was an easy way! All done, beams were so low infront of me I could barely see two car lengths infront of me.

Thanks!

I think the headlight leveling sensor is on the suspension when you have factory xenons. If this sensor was left off after the install you could have this problem. I think it is on the drivers side but I forgot where it is attached to. Someone with Factory Xenon's maybe chime in an take some photos of what it is supposed to look like so you can compare.

I don't have factory xenons but I know the little black box with a piece of linkage on it is on the control arms, very noticeable.

Yes there is an arm mounted on both the front and rear suspension to set the Xenon level.
