Koni FSD and Mach V

Just had these installed by Mach V and all I can say is WOW! Huge thanks to Mach V for doing an awesome job!

There is a bit of a story that goes with this. I had ordered the struts from Way and they were promptly delivered. I setup the install date with Mach V and they called me that day to let me know that in the box there were two right front struts! So I called Way and they contacted Koni. Koni quickly sent (overnight) the strut to Mach V and they got me on the road the next day.

So, a huge thanks to Way, Mach V (Matt) and Koni for getting this mess sorted!

If you are needing service in the DC area, Mach V is definitely the place to go.

Huge thanks to you guys for working with Mach V and Koni to sort the mess!

So far the handling is just awesome compared to the old OEM struts. Even the Mrs. has given it a thumbs up.

The downside is that I think the Suby was jealous. We are now hearing a weird whine from what I can only think is the transfer case or tranny when we accelerate. (Guess it could be a wheel bearing, just not sure)

She'll have to wait until after Christmas for a little TLC.

How's the ride compared to the old struts & shocks? Im more interested in the FSD for comfort then performance. Does it smooth out the harshness from old struts/shocks? Hows the small bumps and the bigger bumps on freeway? Are you still on stock springs and runflats? Thx!

OK, I am running regular tires with stock springs. The ride is far superior over the stock setup. The ride is a lot smoother over small and large bumps but you can still feel the road. Also, you will notice improved handing (less torque steer) on quick acceleration and better cornering.

For comfort these are a step up over stock in my opinion. However, it has been a few years since my setup with original struts were new so it is really hard to compare new to new. That being said, I am comfortable enough to say you won't be disappointed.

Now to get my sway bar bushings swapped. They should be in today.
