Your prospective buyer needs to compare the specs for the R53 and R56 kits carefully.
R56 is BMS MI20. http://www.roadandtrackbyohlins.com/...I_BMSMI201.pdf
R53 is BMS MI10. http://www.roadandtrackbyohlins.com/...I_BMSMI101.pdf
Rear spring rates are the same and overall height is the same, but I don't know if it will fit properly.
Fronts the R56 has 70N/mm spring vs. 60N/mm for the R53. Other than the spring rate difference it is hard to tell if the dimensions work out to be the same because the R53 is shown with the Ohlins top mount vs. the standard top mount. Assuming it fits, the spring rate difference would be a concern for me. Al

Hey Guys,
I had my Ohlins DFV installed for almost a year now. Undeniable good quality coil over.
Last week i went over a pot hole and my strut tower seems to mushroom slightly, and the top mount (guide support) has hairline crack. Do you guys think it is a good idea to install the strut tower plate?
One last question, has anyone tried to repair strut tower mushroom, need advise on the repair.
Thanks.

On my R53 setup, I tried a set of Swift 7kg/mm front, 5kg/mm rears.
I essentially went back to the Eibachs that came with the kit. (6F/5R)
Did it work? Yes. Did I notice a change? Yes. The front-end response was more pronounced. Why did I change back? I felt it changed the car a little more than I expected.
Edit: I should note that this may have been a result of lots of experimenting with different susp parts at the time (about 6-7 years ago).
