R56 Stock Suspension Travel

Searched but couldn't find the info. I am just wondering how much stock suspension travel there is for a stock 2013 MCS? I assume that lowering springs reduce amount of suspension travel, but coils don't. Is this true.
Thanks ahead of time for answering.

Not a whole lot. You will find you're running on bumpstops quite a bit, it was likened to the Mazda Miata MX-5 in terms of travel.

Koni FSD shocks seem to be a great daily driver aftermarket shock, from reading these forums. The ride quality and handling are reportedly much increased. BUT you cannot lower any with the FSD shocks. I remember someone used the factory JCW 'lowering springs' which reduced height by 10mm/0.4" and is using FSD's with no problems. Any more than that and you're likely to run into problems.

To answer your question I'd guesstimate a couple (2) inches total travel, which includes time spent on the bump stops. You can trim/replace them to gain a little more but I don't know much about that.

Coilovers are adjustable for ride height but I don't know if travel changes, might also depend on the brand.

Ryephile has a lot of data floating out there somewhere. Search his username and you will come across it.

Long story short... barely any travel.

Found the ryephile thread. 0.2" before bumpstops on front. 1.9" compression travel. 1" before bumpstops on rear 2" compression travel. Bumpstops are progressive.
