What is causing these vibrations??

My car is gets the shakes starting at 100km/ph and gets worse the faster i push it. At around 160 its so bad that i get off the gas for fear of breaking something.

I replaced my engine seating which was shot but apart from that the car is fine. Had the tires and rims tested and balanced today and then took the boos of the garage for a spin on the highway to see if the problem was still there.... and it was.

We concluded that there must be something else going on as the vibrations were going through the whole car with the steering wheel being relatively unaffected. But even the boss was at a loss on how to test and find the source of the problem = =

The car is a late '05 cooper S. No mods except for exhaust. Original paint, never been crashed or dinged. Mostly a daily driver.

Would appreciate any help or ideas! thx!

Blown front shocks? I believe that this car is dramatically effected by a blown front shock. Causing extreme vibration under WOT.

That doesn't sound like much fun! How many miles? Have you replaced the control arm bushings yet?

The culprit was in fact a bent rim and out if shape tires! The guy at the first shop must have been taking a day off from his supermarket job and covering for his mate at the tire shop = =
In the end I swapped all my wheels with a buddy of mine and the problem was gone. Anywayz, pays to get some second opinions on things sometimes!
