Slightly lowered, now rear tires rubbing

A few weeks ago I had some H&R lowering springs (1" drop in front, .75" in back) and H-sport rear camber links installed on my 06 R53. Had the alignment done and new shoes mounted. Today I noticed that I have some rubbing on the outside shoulder of my rear tires. Is this normal/to be expected, or bad alignment?

What's the offset of your wheels? Also, the 215's will increase the possibility of rubbing.

I'm pretty sure the offset is 42.

Look closely to see exactly where the rubbing is taking place. Just take a Dremel or similar tool with an abrasive wheel and operate on the inner side of your wheel arches and inner liner to alleviate the interference.

Yeah, I bought a Dremel & have been working at it. Being a rookie I put a small hole in the liner, which I've since patched. I need to get a conical sanding attachment, then I can finish the job.

Most of the rubbing has been eliminated, just a touch when I back out of my driveway. Others have said the issue will self-correct over time, and as the rubbing is on the outer shoulder of the time, it shouldn't cause big problems. But, next time I think I'll go back to 205s instead of 215s.

215/40 instead of 215/45 would also be a good option rather than going to 205.

What tires would you recommend in that size? I've been running Michelin PSS and love 'em, but they don't make a 215/40 in 17".

I also use and like the Michelin PSS (215/40-18).
The 215/40-17 options have reduced over the last few years. Selection depends a little on how you use/drive the car.
If only used as a daily driver I would suggest:
1. Pirelli P Zero Nero GT
2. Yokohama S.Drive
If you also you the car for Auto-X and want a little stickier tire that is streetable:
1. Dunlop Direzza ZII Star Spec
2. Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 R
The do not know much about the new Falken Azenis RT615K but I suspect they will be very good.

I don't AutoX, just a spirited daily driver. Living in FL I also need some wet grip to cope with the rainy season.

I'll look at some 215/40s when it's time for new rubber. Thanks for the suggestions👍
