Suspension Mini Mania Rear Strut Spacers

Mini Mania Rear Strut Spacers
I absolutely love the ride of my MINI with the M7 springs but the rear is sitting about 1/2" too low. Mini Mania makes a rear strut spacer that may do the trick. What do you think? Would I be better off just replacing the springs?

Edit: I want to qualify my statement. The M7s are excellent springs but they are too low for my wheel and tire application because I have 8" wide wheels with a 42 offset so they are rubbing on the very edge. Normal wheels and tires should be OK - the M7s worked very well with my Ro_Ja wheels and 205/45s.

the m7's actually do sit the car nicely but it looks like its too low in the back. I thought the same when I had them on my car.
When I put th ePSS9's on I adjusted them so it was even, or actually higher in the back. wheel arches are level but the car has a rake from the back to the front ( front looks a little lower ) I really like the height of my car, its definatly low but not "look out for EVERY bump" low. I can almost go up the driveway without scraping.

I was just joking about the ghetto - my cousin builds extremely high end lowrider cars for Japanese clients. He actually modifies the frame to sit higher within the body so that you don't even see the top of the tire it's tucked into the well so deep. I joke with him all the time and call them ghetto rides until he points out that his cars start at $250,000 and he has a five year waiting list!

Hey Rick,
How'd the spacers work out for you. I have a similar issue with my H-Sport springs, after adding camber plates up front. I just bought some new tires, and they seem to be slightly wider, and now I have a slight rub on sharp dips, or when my MCS is loaded down (kids in back).
Thanks,
MinMax

Hey! Did you ever get around to installing those rear strut spacers with your m7 springs?
I have a nearly identical setup as you with 17x8 wheels and 235/40 tires, and everything fits fine, but the rear rubs @ big dips, so i was looking at raising the rear about 1/2", which would make it sit more level anyway. Seems the M7 springs dropped a bit more in the rear than in the front, ESPECIALLY when I have any luggage or even groceries in the back!
Love to see some after shots with these spacers installed???

Hey folks,
After my earlier post in this thread, I thought, heck I could just make these things and save some money (I'm kinda cheap that way, I'd rather spend the balance on more upgrades ;-).
Really though, if you're handy at all with, and have access to a metal band saw, it's no biggie to cut some out yourself. I went down to the local scrap yard and picked up some 1/2" aluminum plate, then took out the rear shocks, and traced the upper plate on the aluminum and cut them out. Drill a couple of holes and debur, and ta-dah! There you go. The nice thing about making your own spacers is if you need a little more or less, simply get what ever thickness of material you need. with 1/2" or less you shouldn't need longer bolts.
I have the Webb Motorsports Camber plates and H-sport springs (love my set up, hard to beat for the money). The offset of my rims is 38, pushing my tires out. When I bought new tires (Falken Azenis.. Awsome tires) I also had a slight rub problem when hitting bumps. After installing my home fabbed spacers, drove on my new tires from Kansas to Arizona, without any problem whatsoever!
In addition to fixing my rub issue, the spacers made my car have exactly the same wheel gap front to rear. Runs better, looks great, what more could you ask for.
Hope this helps,
Cheers!
