Hey thanks, and it was mainly your car that sold me on getting the m7's...as I liked the way those sat the best.

Hi Saakey,
Your car is looking really good.

What size wheels are they? they look like 18's. are they 215/35's or something else? rubbing?

If possible could you take a picture for us with the front wheel straight? interested to see the gap with the fenders of the front wheel.

Cheers.

Hey thanks guys . The wheels are 18's...I'm getting slight rubbing in the left rear around certain corners and some bumps. I do have 215/40/18 tires...and am wondering if 215/35 would make a difference. But I liked having that slight bit of extra cushion (as much as i can get anyway ) under me. But honestly the rubbing isn't that bad. I think I can live with it...I also haven't had an alignment yet...maybe that would help.
I'll post a different picture with wheel straight as soon as I can.

Methman,
Nice MINI! Do you get any rubbing with a 7.5 wide wheel and that lowering combo? Those wheels are teh hotness!

Thanks! No rubbing at all! What an improvement for not a tremendous amount of money!

I cant afford coil overs, so cups would be a godsend on a Cooper!

What is a Cup kit? Sorry for my ignorance....and I really don't feel like researching....just a simple basic answer would be more than appreciated.

Cup Kit on my old BM

Cup Kit by H&R comes with springs and struts and is like $500-600 you use a lot of your stock parts, strut hat, bump stops etc and it just slams the car.

The pic above is ~2.2" drop all around.

Nice, but does it help in performance like coilover's do? I'm guessing no if a cup kit is $500-600 and coilovers are $900-3000+.

Yes it does help, stiffens up the car a good amount. I used them for one autocross season then ended up moving, then getting rid of the car to get my first mini.

It doesn't help as much as a nice set of coilovers. But it is better than stock.

agreed, it is a good alternative for coilovers, helps the handling a lot, but coilovers are a little better. It is like having Bilstein/H&R combo, we know they work well, but not as functional as c/o kits.
