Rear suspension noise on my '05 MCS

I have two noises in my rear suspension. It can only be heard at low speeds. One is a "squeaking" sound and the other a "rattling" sound. I have the Alta springs, 22mm RSB, end links and control arms installed on the car. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it likely to be the heim joints on either the end links or the control arms? I have read on other forums they tend to "rattle". I have lubed them with WD-40 to no avail. It appears there is a good layer of grease on the swaybar [although I have not removed the brackets to see if the installer did indeed put grease all around]. Thoughts? Advice?

i think the rattle is coming from your endlinks.

the squeaking is probably coming from your swaybar bushings. make sure
you use grease on the inside, outside, and on the bottom of the bushings.

how long have the mods been done? and whos rear control arms? i would look at the control arms to see if the adjustment nuts are tight. if not, they can cause a rattle or squeak. also the sway bar must be greased well to keep from making noise. that would be the only thing that could be making noise under there from what you have installed. one other thing would be the body extra body sealer next to the sway bar. i have seen times on the H-Sport sway bars for it to rub on it, but not sure about a 22mm is big enough to rub. maybe if you have a lot of extra sealer. this would be near the end or down the whole back of the bar so take a flask light ans look down inside.

good luck,
chad

Reply to Kenchan & Agokart

Kenchan--Are you saying the rattle being from the Alta end links is because of the use of heim joints in the manufacture of the link? Any fix? I suspect you are right about the grease on the swaybar. Thanks for your help.

Agokart--All the suspension parts are Alta. The control arm and end link nuts are tight. I didn't see any rubbing with body sealer, but will look again. Thank you too.

some heim joints make a lot of noise when it is not under load.

i had spherical bearing adjustable endlinks on my earlier car and
it rattled pretty audibly while going straight and over bumpy
roads.

see if you can install your factory endlinks and reproduce the
problem.
