Homegrown Community Picnic with the Boss Drummers
Bring a picnic lunch (no alcoholic beverages allowed) and enjoy outdoor art activities and games on SECCA's grounds. They will have vendors on hand with summertime treats (cold lemonade, snowcones, and funnel cakes) and art-making activities for all ages. And don't miss the Boss Drummers' (Winston Lake Family YMCA) performance and drumline demonstration. The Drummers will also lead children and families in a mini-parade, and participants can "keep the beat" with their own handmade tambourines. SECCA's Community Days are free quarterly events, celebrating new exhibitions and offering an open invitation to the public to come and see what SECCA and contemporary art are all about. You'll also have the chance to cool off in the galleries with a guided interactive tour through the Homegrown: Southeast exhibition. In case of rain, activities will take place in SECCA's McChesney Scott Dunn Auditorium lobby.
