Center cap options (Rota)?

After having my Rota Slipstreams for just a few weeks, it was time to do a high speed auto cross event. So I needed (per the rules) to take off my center caps. Two came off very easily and some of the clips broke off, and two where very hard to get off and some of the clips broke off. Now they obviously wont stay on anymore.

Although the caps were not my favorite, I like the wheels better with caps than without. Four new caps (that will no doubt break again when I need to take them off), will set me back about $45.00!!!! Are there any alternatives or cheaper caps that I could use?

I can't believe how expensive these things are and they break so easily. If they made ones that bolted on, I wouldn't have to remove them and then I wouldn't mind the price, but for these ... give me a break (and not a breaking cap) .

i usually use a small screw driver to pry the clips inwards to release.

i guess you can cut some circles out of balsa wood and glue them
on there.

It sounds like you take the tires off and pry from the back. Now that's a bunch of work for just removing caps

i dont use center caps on my comps but yah, when i do use caps i
remove the wheel and push them out gently from the back side. especially
when getting new tires mounted, etc so the tech does not accidentally
break it.
