Yeah, I never understood the need to spend so much on a wheel for a relatively inexpensive car. But have at it if that is what you enjoy as we all like different things.

You know this is not the place to be told not to spend money... If you have to justify it to someone special, we may even be able to help you come up with some of the excuses/justifications

first off 10% of the cost of the car should never be tied up in wheels, that is just ridiculous

second....that $2500 invested in a good mutual fund at age 65 (assuming you are young egnough to care about wheels...say 25yo old) is somewhere close to $232,627 ....I dont want to hear whining about why you cant pay for your meds when you retire...

The cost of something is NEVER just the cost now....It is the cost of what that frivolus purchase diminishes your ability to build wealth......and by the very fact that you have to think about spending $2500 means you shouldn't

Depends on what wheels they are. Palo Uber? No. BBS, Volk, Work? Yes.
Just make sure you've looked at EVERY wheel you can get for $2500 before you spend. You don't want to have to find out later that you could have gotten forged BBS RGRs or Work VSXXs for less.

You owe it to yourself to look thru every one of these sites:

Make a list of other things that you'd want to spend that money on. If nothing on that list grabs your attention ... well, then my suggestion didn't work.

Example: how about let's say $1000 on wheels and $1500 on other mods. Hmm, that sounds interesting ... that would be way more fun than all of the $2500 just on wheels.

Wow, this could be fun. How about $500 on wheels (some Rotas), $1000 on a good race/driving school, $500 on mods and $500 for a rainy day. I'll stop now

Show us the wheels and tires and we'll decide it they look worth the price.

Meanwhile resist the urge.

Set up a "wheel" trust fund and let the money grow while you do more searching and research on your options.

What wheels are they, and what about them makes them worth $625 each? I bought a set of 15-16 lb. rotary forged 17" wheels for $169 each on sale.

OMG, I have FOUR sets for the MINI (only two for the PT). Not likely I'll be the one telling you anything other than to be sure they fit and they're the ones you really want!

Yeah not sure I would spend that much money for a part of the car that can be easily damaged. Especially in the large wheel diameter sizes.

don't do it.... no, stop.... please....

Seriously, one of the others mentioned that if you're looking for an excuse NOT to splurge, then your subconscious is probably trying to tell you something. If nothing else, give yourself a(nother) week to let it sit. The urge may not be so great after that. I know all about that feeling where you get it in your head that you really want something, and pretty soon it becomes, "GOTTA HAVE IT NOW!!!" A week later, you may feel like, "...eh?"

You think 232,627 is going to be enough for anyone whos 25 right now to retire?

I feel your pain. I've had that same arguement with myself up until shortly before the odering process. Especially after watching the 24 Hours of Le Mans with so many cars running the BBS wheels which I really like, but I got a grip and decided to just go with web spokes and for-go the 10% upgrade. I suppose if I was racing the car it might be different. But I'm not.

Just get 2 sets for that money if the itch is just too much. One for bling and one for racing in track or having fun.
