BFGoodrich g-Force R1. Who has tried them?

Posted this in the road racing section, but I guess this forum is better.

Looking for feedback, positive or negative on the new R1.

Not talking about the old R1 T/A, but the new racing tire.

thanks! JR

Did not try them but they wanted $196 for 205-50-15 I think for that price Iwould go with Michelin pilot sport cups.

They seem like a very good track tire and better than Hoosier R6 or Toyo Ra1. Good for lapping and for HPDE.

I have run Michelin Pilot Sport cups in 205/50-15 using a MINI and was not impressed for lapping or HPDE.

Faster lap times by several owners reported. That's pretty hard to beat.

Make sure you have enough front negative camber when using good tires.

That's great info! Thanks. I had seen the Tire Rack user reviews and test:

but I missed the "Control Manual". Pretty thorough info in there.

Thanks for your help.

Still interested if anyone has the chance to run them on a MINI.

Lemme know. JR

I have Run the R1's on a 99 Civic SSC racecar. Very fast, less twitchy than Hoosiers - they dont grease out like V710's. Very predictable, and wear looks phenominal! The do like camber however, like a hoosier.

Alex,

Any sense for how they would do on an autocross MCS compared to the other tires?

Thanks.

This was just posted to YouTube.

More good comments about the g-Force R1.

Nice plug for BFG and for Tire Rack at the end of the vid.

PS: Sorry Scott. No mention of Autox in the clip. Still looking for that, as I'd probably end up doing more autocrosses than track days.
