The Konigs are nice but the BBS are awesome! Very hot. I'd love to lower my car a bit more than what the JCW suspension did, but it's my only car and I need a bit more clearance for daily (and only driver) sanity.

15's look amazing on our cars if they are lowered properly and have the right tire size choice. The peformance benefits are great too
my car has the megan coils and 205/50s on both sets of wheels (gonna go smaller on the new ones soon)

which model were they? Any idea of their width or offset? It's hard to tell if they're gonna fit without knowing which model or atleast size you are thinking of.

I widened mine since they are 2-piece. The lips were custom made by Schmidt....so after all the work the wheels came out to:
Fronts are 15x8 offset 15
Rears are 15x8.5 offset 9
205/50 all around currently....may step down to 195/50 all around .....or 195/50 fronts 205/45 rears

hmm you will have some issues with rubbing if you plan on running 205/50 tires and lower it
with 15x7's and an et of about 32-35 the wheels are RIGHT at the edge of the arches....anything lower than that will start poking out past the arches.

Hmm, this is cool, but certainly makes for a more costly/timely procedure of rotating tires... I was kind of joking, but seriously, I rotate my tires every 3K as I like to keep the wear as even as possible. What's your rotation plans? Do Coopers burn through front tires anything like a JCW MCS? Dumb question... and it deserves a clever smarta$s response--and I'll be disappointed if nobody pipes in with one.

Stock e30 BMW offset is et25. Like others have said, they are gonna look roller skate-ish by poking out of the fenders.

But I do agree that we can get away with some more poke-age in our little cars, thanks in part to the plastic fender flares.

I think everyone needs to think about offset here. . . perspective has been lost. It's in millimeters, which are tiny, 25.4 of them in ONE inch,and is measured from the center of the wheel out. The difference between a stock 40mm, or et40, offset and the above wheel is about the width of the "ALT" key in front of you. So to say that one will work, and the other will destroy your bearings and fender liners is not true. Your bearings will probably be affected if you track the car or drive it extrememly hard all the time on really low offset wheels, like <et20, but for everything else it should be fine.
The above wheel will be JUST past the fender and the right tire, probably a 195/55r15, would fit right in there.

I know it's all relative, but a mm here, a mm there and all of a sudden you are talking real number.
I have no idea what fitment and clearance is like on a MINI, but I know on my e30 even a 10mm difference with the same profile & width tire caused severe rubbing issues, and I had to roll the fenders or risk tearing-up my front fenders when I hit a bump.
Not saying that would happen with a MINI (and it sounds like it probably wouldn't, given the range that has been tried in this thread), but 25 mm is a few microns shy of a full inch. Call me a little gun shy, but I've had experiences with people saying "sure, that'll fit just fine" only to find out "just fine" meant "OK - if you roll it and run a rediculous tire size".
And a 195/55 is gonna look pretty skinny on a 7.5" wheel. I was thinkin' more like a 225/50
