195/55 is recommended for 5.5-7. Only a 1/2 more than the recommendation. If you think that's a stretch, you should see 195/45 on 8 or 9 in wide rims. That's a 2 inch wider wheel and 10% less sidewall.

The wheels and tire setup I want to go with will be 15x8 et35 with 195/55r15. Should be right on. The problem with rubbing comes when you try to run a tire that is right in the middle of the recommended range. 225/50r15 says 6-8 inch wide wheel. Almost nobody runs a 225/50 on 15x7 wheels. And there are a lot of them here on NAM.

I had 215s on my e30 with a 15x7. 215 - 225 is what most people ran on that car on a 15" wheel, but we are talking different cars.

I have 205/60 Falken all seasons types on my all silver Konig rewinds.

60 is 1% off from stock MCS ride height. 55 is 1.5% off too small. 1% bigger means better highway slightly. the mini has too much low end with its 6 gears with tiny increments as it is. more bounce, more grip. 1 out of 300 do it like I did, but its amazing ride. I also drive like a crackhead running from the cops. the setup works.

Thanks Snid for the post. I can't say enough good things about these wheels and 949 Racing. They are 15x8 with an offset of 36 @ 12.9 lbs not hub centric and no rings are available. I got them early this season with 225x45 Toyo RA1's. Things have not been the same sense! Ask SNID. Needed 5mm spacers in the rear and there was some rubbing that HAD to be managed with the baseball bat trick (lowered a lot on Bilsteins). On 949 Racing. I ordered on a friday and received them by Thursday the next week from CA (I'm from RI)! He will have more sizes available for 2008.

stretched tires on a 15x7? What was he running 165s?

Honestly, I think I'll save some more and get those Ronals... The more I look at them, the more I like them... After looking at all these pictures you guys posted, I don't want anything other than 15's on my MINI. I love the look of a lowered MINI with 15's. RallyMINI, yours look sick but I think that for a daily driver that's too much poking... I even found a pic of an MCS here in NAM with a similar setup... Check it out and props to the owner, whoever he or she is...

yah he's got the same setup as me (same poke etc).....although I went a little wider in the back. And his tires were much smaller because he took them off his VW and i went for a lower ride height.

Mine is a daily driver and I just took along a long road trip from ohio out to the east coast of NJ without any problems. I also drove it from Jersey up the garden state parkway to long island and even through downtown NYC with no problems. And of course it takes me to work every day....but that's no biggy.

I can understand it's not for everyone....just letting you know that you could pull it off on a daily driver no problem.

I just found an online store that has the R10's on sale for $599.00... Do you know of any other website where I can get a bundle (wheels & tires)?

Hmmm I will have to think about it. 599 sounds like a pretty decent price. I'll let you know if I find anything....though i think the place you found might be your best bet.

Anyways....email these guys. They will sell them to you with tire bundles. They only list the common sizes for VW's....but i bet they would hook you up with a bundle with the size tires you want

I guess these will poke waaaaay too much... RallyMINI, do you think that offset is correct? Could it be an error? Miatas use the same offset as our cars and I think +04 is way too much, even for the Miata...

no that's definitely the offset of that wheel. Like me, lots of miata owners run a lot of poke. They can also get away with a little more than we can...their wheels arent EXACTLY the same offset as ours....just close.

Those wheels do come in "more acceptable" offsets for our car....though they don't look as good as that pic cause they lose a lot of their lip

The lip is exactly what I'm looking for... I'v seen the other ones her in a thousand different MINI's, but I don't like the way they look . I guess I'll have to surrender... I'm even considering a set of holies I saw on Ebay for about 390, shipping included... IMHO they look sweet with a good drop

It sucks that we can't run lips without so much work though
