15" aftermarket wheels on a MINI
:impatient Isn't a MINI supposed to be, well... A mini car? The original Mini Cooper came outfitted with 10" wheels and in my opinion, it looked great. Based on this "tradition", why install anything bigger than 15"? I mean, I have nothing against large wheels but the other day I saw a MCS with 20's!!! You gotta be friggin' kidding me!!!
I remember like 4 years ago Sport Compact Car magazine built a MCS, painted it flat black with black 15" Racing Harts and it looked great.
Well, I'm thinking about getting a set of 15" lightweight wheels with either 215-50-15 or 205-55-15 tires. If anybody is running this setup, please let me know and if possible, include some pictures...
Thanks!!!

I have a friend that is running on Konig Rewinds in 15" size. His tires are 205/50/15 & he likes the setup, but says the 205/55/15 would be a better fit.
My car runs ASA JH6 wheels with 205/50/16's. One nice benefit of smaller tires is that the larger sidewall gives a nicer ride.
Green one has 15's. The Blue has 16's.

These are wheels and tires:

The 15 inch tire and wheel combination lowers the car by slightly more than half inch, and is 10lbs lighter per corner compared to 17s with runflats.
205/50/15 is a very popular size - you will find best variety/price.

Also, most rotor upgrades won't work with anything smaller than 16" wheels...

Hey iscruz7769,
I'm with you on 10" wheels on a classic looking great. That said, I run 16s on my '06 JCW (need clearance for JCW brake calipers). I'm with you, 15's look great. I don't think they're too small on R56's unless you get into low-profile sidewalls. I'm rarely a fan of HUGE wheels, rubberband tires. There are some vehicles where this works, like 3/4 ton Pick-ups .

As long as you're not going big brake kit, 15's are they way to go. Big wheels are generally too heavy and hinder performance.
I like the Konig Rewinds (both chrome and anthracite) as they are light, cheap and rock solid though I currently have the OEM delta spokes. I also like the OEM holies.
All will allow 205/55/R15. Konigs you can go 215/50 methinks.

15's look amazing on our cars if they are lowered properly and have the right tire size choice. The peformance benefits are great too
my car has the megan coils and 205/50s on both sets of wheels (gonna go smaller on the new ones soon)
the old konigs
the new BBS's
front ride height still needs to come down
