Anyone using Konig Supermesh?

Anyone using Konig Supermesh?
I am looking for a set of aftermarket wheels primarily for street use. Currently using R84 web-spokes with Dunlop runflats on my 02 MCS. I like the look of the Konig Supermesh 16x7" 4x100 +40 black w/ polished lip. However, not sure about actual weight and durability. They are $400-450 per set on Ebay.
Does anyone have experience using them? And how much do they weigh? Pics on a MINI?
I live in Arizona with good weather most of the year and decent roads. May consider occassional auto-X in the future.
Info or alternatives would be great. Thanks.

Check this thread for details and pictures of someone running Spun Supermesh wheels (same wheel).

You could post there and ask any questions you might have for the owner....that's his car's thread.
I think they look GREAT on MINIs.....the 16s are a perfect size and offset

Silver supermesh 16x7 $450 shipped
http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/pts/403090169.html
Gold supermesh 16x7$450 shipped
http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/pts/403096927.html
From $400 on ebay.com
For that price you get a moderately built rim, weight might be closer to 20 lbs each. I would guess about 18 to 20 lbs. Gravity Cast construction likely.
Durability- similar to stock MINI wheels.

you can get them here for $430 shipped (400 if you want 15s)

I'm gonna guess Minihune is close on the weight....some people on the honda forums are quoting around 18lbs for the 16 inch wheels

I love the look of the Supermesh, but if I invest in aftermarket wheels, they should at least be lighter weight than my stock R84s.
...Checked out the JBLmotorsports link. Love the Heliums. I think they would drop a few pounds per corner and show off the brakes I am dreaming of... Durability might be an issue?
Thanks for the helpful links and advice.

Aye, good point. I hadn't thought of it that way.
All the Konig wheels appear to be comparatively low-priced. I expect that trading durability for lightweight in a cast wheel is unavoidable. The final question is, I suppose, more a matter of taste...but... I wonder whether silver wheels or black accents would look better on a LY/W with tinted windows.
Don't know yet. Will have to sleep on that one.

i was running the konig heliums for almost a year with no bends and no cracks. 3 autox events, 2 track days, daily driven on the same wheels/tires. personally i think they're a great budget solution for some quality knock off (if there is such a thing :P)
i had 16"s and they felt extremely light in comparison to my OEM webspokes. granted they're an inch smaller in diameter and i still have the runflats on the webspokes. i never weighed them myself.

Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 (Max Performance Summer tire) $125
280 treadwear Y speed rated 22 lbs
General Exclaim UHP (Ultra High Performance Summer tire) $66
380 treadwear W speed rated 19 lbs
General Exclaim UHP vs GS-D3-
Costs much less, very good value
Rides more comfortably for street use and commuting
Lasts longer
Weighs less
Works well in wet or dry but not as sticky/soft rubber
Won't keep up on the track to Goodyear GS=D3.

So based on this and the fact it's my daily driver, I'll go for General's. Since I don't track, spending almost double the amount seems wasteful. If after these I want to try the GS-D3's I'll have a good reference point.
Thanks as always for your input.

Even though the size of the tires is the same the two you mentioned are very different.

if you're going for mediocre summer tires and high milage, just get some high perf
a/s tires. most defintely will last longer, quieter, softer riding, sticks just as well,
and easy on the pockets.
here's some i tried with good results:
Yok AvidH4 (this is my 2nd set. very nice)
Sumitomo HTR+ (this is also my 2nd set, very very quiet and nice)

I'll give you one more choice. I love my Nitto Neo Gens (205/50/16) and think they might be a good option for price and performance. These tires have been some of the best I've ever run on any of my cars. I found out about them from some of the members in my Mini group and I think they are a steal for the amount of performance they give. You might want to give them a look.

Ken, mums the word but it's usually the wife who decides for me.

I've heard about these too, but nothing comes up on Tire Rack. I know discount tire carries them and within their site they've rated well. There's a local club member who runs these, I'll ask him too. Thanks!
