painting S-lites, or powdercoat?

well i was painting them with Dupli color wheel paint...and well...its not coming out like i want it...i only wasted maybe 20 bux or so...so its not that bad, but im just going to get the done by my body shop. should i just have him paint them and clear them, or powdercoat? powdercoat means id have to take the tires off and re mount them, and i JUST got these on like 2 weeks ago and paid 80 to have them mounted/balanced...

either way. wouldnt powdercoating them be more costly than painting them then clear?
i'd say powdercoat if you want them to come out CLEAN and paint and clear if you dont care as much and a cheaper job.

Powdercoating requires you have the wheels stripped to bare metal for the powder coat to adhear. Clean the wheels with a good pre-cleaner, Scuff the wheels really well with 600 grit wet paper and a red scuff pad. Paint with a catalized paint and allow them to fully cure.
Your bodyshop should be able to handle all this.

Hey pimpedout. I powdercoated S-Lites black. They came out really nice but I am still awaiting my 2007 for install. My concern now is if the new tire pressure sensor they are putting in later 2007 Mini's will fit on the S-Lites. If not, I'm gonna be seeing a sensor light all the time because I am using those wheels no matter what. If you or anyone else knows, please let me know.
