On cars manufactured prior to 1980, definitely.

Does anybody have the SSR GT7's? I like the way they look, and was wondering if anybody had them. I won't be getting anything until Spring, but there is no harm in shopping, right?

I also like the SSR GT7s and they were on my short list when I was choosing aftermarket wheels. However they are discontinued and the remaining stock at TireRack is 18" only. There are some photos of the 17" version here:

XAlfa, I was wondering why the "You go girl", and a quick check on posts indicates letsgofloogin may not be female...

In fact, NOT female. No biggie. The name comes from my job, a loadmaster on the C-130 cargo plane. I fly for a living. Floogin is Secret Squirrel Code for flyin (and now I have to kill you).

Wheels: like shoes for your car. I have four (yes 4) sets of wheels with tires for my one (1) MCS DS/W. I bought it used the end of June 2006. I came with 15" white 7 hole wheels all season tires - photo attached. Probably the best choice for Wisconsin winters. I got a set of brand new OEM take off 15" Five Star alloys with pirelli tires off eBay right after I bought the car. Then I worked out a deal with the car dealer I bought my car from. They couldn't make good on part of our agreed upon sale so I got them to give me (free) a set of 17" Kazera KZ-V Polished Chrome wheels with Dunlop SP Sport 9000 run flats and chrome tuner lugs - photo attached. I like the wheels so much I bought another set of the KZ-Vs off eBay. The same 17" wheels except they are silver finish with polished rims and Goodyear Scorcher tires. Okay I am compulsive! But I have a backup - or 3 - if I have a flat!
By the way, I am even worse about shoes for myself. The closets are overflowing!

I was actually assuming Der Fluger was indeed male. That's part of what made it a funny post... to me at least. You see, it was a popular culture reference. Shoe shoppin... go girl... Oh, well. Forget it.

I got the joke, but wanted no confusion on the topic of my gender, just to clear. I have thick skin, so bring it on.

Yeah. It's not easy. I only use them in Spring and Summer but it's still tough.
I've got a set of OZ Racing F1s for the winter - 3 are bent. Winters are no fun.

Indeed.

Different strokes for different folks. That's what make the MINI fun. You have choice in the matter.

When it comes to mods, do what you like with your car. You'll never please everyone, so start with yourself and the rest will work out.

Anything more than basic transportation is really just a form of entertainment anyway.
