Hey, that's a really smart spin on the ol' darkening them. Do you have more pictures of the headlights, outside especially?

Looks sweet gnat.

Paintin them headlight surrounds would complete the look imo.

Sexy wheels though. Lightest 17s since SSR comps!

Looks great.

But what's with the triple-6? Trying to scare off members of the church-going community?

It's the last 3 digits of the VIN.

I like the look...more business, less bling. What size tires did you go with? Did you notice much of a difference in ride and performance?

As a side note, have you considered blacking out the chrome belt line?

I agree with you. One thing I like about the Mini is it's different then what everyone else is doing and in my opinion bling and big wheels look stupid on a Mini.

The tires are Bf Goodrich KDW's at 205/55. They are only one tenth of an inch in diameter smaller then the stock run craps, which isn't enough to make a difference.

First off my suspension is stock. I know I should at least get a rear bar but I can trail brake with both right and left feet or throttle off oversteer to get this car to turn really well. The ride on these 15" tires is a lot smoother then any 17" tires. I don't mind the harsher ride of the 17's except I don't want to beat the crap out of my car. These 15" tires and the other 15" tires on a Mini I have driven, out perform my 17' Parada Spec 2's and the 17" run craps in every way. I get less understeer and the car seems to be more neutral all the time. I think Minis handle better with 15 or 16" tires because of the short and relatively stiff suspension. The sidewall is able to flex more and conform to the pavement instead of skipping over it. And the rougher the road the better they are compared to bigger tires. My 17's would starte skipping before they hit their limit and the engine RPM would starte to fluctuate up and down really fast. The 15's don't skip, I can feel a little sidewall flex in high g corners which was a little wierd at first but it doesn't seem to affect how hard I can push them.

Be really carefull when these tires are new. They are like driving on ice till they are broke in. The grip seemed to peak at about 400 miles.

I have thought about the chrome belt line but I don't know a really good way to do it. And it's not high on mt priority list right now. About three weeks ago I was driving on the freeway, it was a really windy day. The wind kicked up a big cloud of thick sand, It happened really fast, I had no where to go, it hit the car from the front. I was going 65 and I would say the sand hit me at about 50, so it got sand blasted at about 115 mph. I made a claim with AAA and they are going to pay to have the whole front of the car painted and they are going to replace every part on the front of the car including the windshield. I think I am going to do a few things different: Paint the scoop and boot handle black, install the optional black grill and Chili red mirror caps.

Anyone have some pics of their PaloUber signature forged wheel rims in Winter Black (not Uber Grey)?

Do they really look black or more like a dark grey / anthracite grey.

Appreciate the input.

Thanks.

Not as kustomized as some but I'm loving it all the same. Did the suspension stuff last week, finally put on the wheels today.

(The applicable info: 16" Sportmaxx 002s, H-Sport springs but w/ camber plates raising the front a wee bit)

Saw your car today on top of the Palace Station Garage getting buffed. Must say, your car in person looks incredible!

But the Sportmax rims have ... more spokes, which is why opted for the Ubers.

Sportmax makes the eight spoke for 4-bolt applications and 10 spoke for 5 bolt applications. The Uber wheels are Sportmax wheels.

http://www.sportmaxwheel.com/sportmax_003.shtml#

Mouse over the wheels and it will show you the difference in the spokes and bolt pattern. The wheel description text to the left of the images also explains this.

anybody have a good source for SportMax wheels (maybe a vendor here?) I'm possibly looking for a set of 20x8.5 and they seem to be hard to track down.
