for increased side wall, less risk of damaging the rim with pot holes in the roads....and better ride comfort. It also fills up the wheel gap perfectly. I had 215/40/17 with my s-lytes, and that just rattled the car. The new set up is perfect. I don't care about them being taller, I actually like it, and the speedo change does not bother me either. A bunch of people here and other MINI groups run the 215/45/17 set up.
After doing a lot more reading, I see that you definitely made the right choice. If I downsize to 17" 215/45 will now be my tire of choice. There are far too many positive reasons vs negative reasons to go that size.
Nice wheels, CX 808 Titanium Silver with Machined lip. I saw a picture of those wheels in chrome on a MCS in a wheel book and thought they would look good great choice!
my guess is thats its just a photoshop so there is no way of knowing or even if its possible. You will notice that the perspective is totally off on the rear wheel since its a fake image. Most people struggle to go very low on 18s....you've got maybe 3 or 4 cars running 18s that are actually low.

Ah hah! I didn't even consider Photoshop! (Shows you where my head is at today as I struggle to focus on my homework!)
Damn those look sweet! ..i can't figure out why i like them so much! and damn if they don't look better on your car than they do on mine - what up with that LOL - good choice though
Hmmmm well it's to bad you just have those 2 wheels...i guess putting on the drivers side helps so you can pretend you have a full set ... Are they 17's or 18's - why can't i tell and whats the weight? Looks real nice
