Rims & Tires

Just recently purchased new rims and tires. Rims: ZINIK Z7 Adrain 18 x 7.5 (4 x 100) with +42mm offset Tires: Falken FK-452 215/35ZR18.These made a big difference in the look and handling of my Mini.

Part of the MINI Aero Kit.

Aero Side Skirts are available through a dealer or some aftermarket companies. They usually require prep and painting.

Thx dood. Your beltline kit was duly appreciated. I'll earn it back helping with that brake install...

I love your car. I've had several red cars (such as my old '73 Bug pictured) but when I order my MCS I figured I'd try something different and went with HB/W. Seeing your car makes me really regret my decision.

Thanks all, for the kind words. I'm pretty happy with the color. I got my black car fix satiated with the first MINI (we're lucky enough to still have it), and sold my red '02 M3, to get this MINI. Staying with an all red car eased the pain of letting go of the M.

jaynicholson, that beetle is COOL.

Hey JCW..

I feel your pain.. I've tried to easy my '03 M3 loss with my Astro Black Mini but I still have lingering longing for the brute force kick in the pants that the M gave me..

By the way.. your car looks fantastic. Very clean.

JCW- in all honestly, i think your MCS is much better than
a M3 (not that i know if you modded the M3 or not...).

Kenchan-

The M3 was only lightly modded. Short shift and some cosmetic stuff ( AC Schnitzer carbon here and there). It sure didn't need power . It was a rocketship for my standards, but the MINI hits the twisties a little better.

Pic:

I was planning to to a bunch of stuff to it (Vorsteiner CF and CSL body work, BBS RGR wheels, suspension, etc) but did an about face and sold it for the MINI on order. I just couldn't get past the thought that I wouldn't have a fully sorted (late model build) R53. The 03 we have is great, but it comparatively cro-magnon compared to the sept 06 build of the 06. Plus the MINI is such a bargain when it comes to mods by comparison. M3's require some real cabbage! The carbon on that car alone was 5 grand. Absolutely fantastic products are available, but pricing is absurd. Plus the stock M is no cheaply maintained car.

OK, sorry for the hijack...

^^ that's a nice looking machine... i too agree that the best time to
get the R53's would be the last model year...

im sitting here pondering if i should do the $7K+ Endless BBK's on my G
(next year).

I started with aircooled V-dubs back in 1988. My first car was a bone stock, OK condition red '69 conv. Then I moved up to the '73 pictured above. When I moved away from home to play hockey my dad decided that he'd start to restore it and from that point forward it slowly became his. 16 years later and he still has it, so sometimes I take it out when I visit.

Beautiful BEAUTIFUL MINI! And the E46 makes me miss mine. I sold my IR/IR a few months ago! *sigh*

Now if someone would have suggested that to me, I would have thought it wouldn't look good. Now that I see a picture, I am blown away by how cool that looks! What did you use/do to get the center caps black? Those wheels are my "winter wheels", so I'd need to do something so that the center caps would stand up to road salt.
