sorry no. i lowered it about the same time i got the SSR Comps because
it had aggressive offset and wide tires and didn't want the 4x4 look.

imho, the F7's (the new wheels on my car) will make your car look lifted
if you don't lower it. you might want to go for the 16's instead (2nd set of
picts of my old setup using TK5's)

i just got tired of the loud howling of performance tires when they were
about 25% worn...then you have to hear it for the rest of the tire's life.

I really like them. Maybe a bit too much.... the fronts are about worn out after only around 15,000 miles. The rears still look practically new, though. They are pretty quiet, but I've been noticing some road noise lately - likely from the worn fronts. The ride hasn't deteriorated, though, or the grip. These tires are fairly sticky. MUCH better than the Dunlop SP 9000s, either the RFs or non-RFs (I've had both on the car), and quieter during hard cornering, too.

So, I need to order a couple of tires from Tire Rack.... it would be so tempting to order four and have them mounted on a set of wheels while they're at it....

sounds good. i had SP9000DSST's on my R90's originally and they
were junk. my sumitomo a/s tires trip waaaay better then that!

how about getting 2 new sportmaxx for your current wheels and make
an excuse to buy the F7's with a/s tires like mine and use them in the
winter time? lol

I'm in California... what's "Winter"? Actually, we get plenty of rain and cold, but very few days of freezing. Summer tires work pretty well year 'round here.

I'd like to ditch the current wheels. They look cool when they're clean, but that lasts less than a week. And they don't look as good as I thought they would, plus they're a PITA to wash. I'd be more inclined to just get new wheels and tires and leave 'em on the whole year.

Something else I just though of - The pics of the Clubman S that are posted in the R56 section show some 17" five-spokes that look really similar to your new wheels. Can't see the detail though. I'm curious to see how close the styling is. Of course, the factory wheels will only be 7" wide, and probably have 48 offset.

dohh!! you're lucky. sacramento...dang.

for 17x7's, i think 205/45/17's look the best. kinda limited on the
tire choice, but it's best to have a slight stretch on the sidewall for best
appearance, imho... then push it out 5mm. especially on a lowered car.

I think the 205/45-17 Sport Maxxes would actually look better on a 7.5" wheel than the 7" wide wheels they're on now. There's basically zero stretch right now - almost vertical sidewalls. They're wide enough that they'd look really good on a 7.5.

My SA was freaking out about my front tires this afternoon. "They're bald!" I looked at 'em when I dropped the car off this morning. Yeah, they're getting down there, but they've still got tread on 'em. Hardly "bald", especially for summer driving.

*sigh* Guess I need some tires.

Are you aware of the California law concerning remaining tread depth? The fonts must have at least 1/8 "at all points" and the rears must have at least 1/16" at all points. What I've heard is that if you are in an accident with tires that don't meet these requirements, it automatically becomes your fault, no matter what happened.

Where's your car? Post up before you diss someones ride or taste. A lot of people like the OEM look. I personally like it but right now I want the modded aftermarket look.

Hmmm, may have to rotate the tires.

These aren't as bad yet as the tires I had on my old Civic Si. The car was slammed, so I couldn't really even see the tire tread. When I finally pulled 'em off to put the new wheels and tires on, it turned out that they only had pattern of where the tread used to be. Oopsies.

Sorry, didn't mean to diss anyone's taste. Just after browsing this thread it seemed like Kenchan had a lot to say about wheel fashion and has been through many different "looks" on his car. Some people are into wheels, some are into shoes or purses. It's all good.

I think for the time being, I'm going to be good and just order a pair of tires.

It's a more involved story, but right now my mom would kill me if a new set of wheels showed up on my car. I did see a BMW tonight with "your new wheels", and I was thinkin' about those Sport Editions.

I run those (in 18") on my Evo. They're medium-weight, very strong. They've been one of 5Zigen's staple wheels for a long time, so I wouldn't worry they're going to be discontinued tomorrow.

That weight sounds awfully light. There are two FN01R designs. One is the forged version, which is expensive, and is light. The other is the cast "C" version (FN01R-C) which is more affordable for mortals. The 18x8.5 weighs around 21 pounds. I'd put the 17x7 at maybe 17-18 pounds.
