The Oz's look great, that is some set of pipes, do you have a sound clip? How loud are those mufflers...

Exel 008

Does anyone run the Exel 008 wheels? I'm considering these wheels and I can't seem to find a single picture of a MINI, or any other car for that matter with the 008's on them.

ZAKdog - yes there's 2 holes under the front mini badge and 3 under the rear mini badge. The right way to fix it is to weld them closed and repaint them. Not cheap or worth it unless you have some other reason to repaint.

05 Cooper with 18" EXEL wheels

People say they are cheap, but I think they still look good.

I guess they mean cheap base on how easy they would bend if you hit a pot hole or something.

or you can say how cheap is it to replace IF they do bend on a pothole or something... is a $150 wheel much easier than one that costs 600 and has to be shipped from japan?

Generally expensive wheels are multi-piece....if i bend mine....it's only 120 bucks to get a new lip and then it's like new again. That's if they bend in the first place which is highly unlikely for Schmidt lips which can be thrown off a roof or beaten with metal poles without bending (check their site for vids)

Another big difference is in the finish. The difference between true polished lips and the clearcoated machined finish lips that you find on cheaper wheels is pretty big.

With all that said....there's nothing wrong with the cheaper wheels....they still look pretty good and work in many applications

No, they are not loud, sound good down at idle, then it appears they mellow out. Nice!

My volks had machined lips that had been clear coated, are they a lower quality?

I don't know what polish has to do with wheel quality but I remember some polished aluminum wheels I had on my old truck. They were a stink to keep shiny. In contrast, soapy water brought the shine back with the volks. I'd trade that over hours with a rag and mag polish.

i can agree that much...

that said, a friend of mine had his TE37 stolen once... after he brought them new, had them for 2 months, and stolen... when he had to get replacements, and believe me it wasn't pretty

no....having machined lips isn't a sign of bad quality. I was just giving one example of what differences could be noticed

Advan RG-II

Advan RG-II, 17x7.5, +42 offset.

I picked these up earlier this year, but couldn't decide to keep them or go for the GramLights 57maximum. Finally mounted them over the weekend.

those Advan RG-II's are some of my favorite wheels, they do beg to be used on a lowered car to get the most out of the aggressive look...
