HRE's are pimp for sure. Brushed aluminum centers is by far my favorite finish on custom wheels. Definitely the nicest wheels you've bought so far. There's another user on here, PortMCS?, with the C20's on his car and they look sick. Post pics!
I'm just curious to see what you'll be replacing these with in a few months lol. HRE 841R or monoblocks maybe?

Monoblocks are machined from a solid piece of stock and are only made fpr certain fitments. Mini not being one of them. Not a huge fan of the 841R, but the 844R sure does catch my eye.
Yes PortMCS has the same wheel in 18x8. I sorta feel like I arrived in the same dress after him to the ball. I've been thinking of ways to make these my own...

Honestly, Gnatster, I had considered your car "the awesome one with such boring wheels" (with the exception of the body colored ones). That was just my opinion though.
I've always loved those HREs and it's going to look incredible on your car. Nice choice. Please post pics ASAP!

But wait...there is more
May I present....HRE C20, 18x7.5, ET43 Polished lip, brushed centers, titanium hardware
Big thanks go to PGT for pointing these out to me, Rally for answering questions I had about offsets and Tuls for overall visionary guidance.
Now to agonize over tire selection

I wasn't a fan of the hyper black on my DS/B. They came off teh car two days later and I fixed that.

Nice wheels gnatster. From my experience, the C20s look good in photos and amazing in person.
$400/wheel for brushed?! WOW.
You have an HRE hook-up, can you PM me if you have a BBS connection that you can share.
Thanks and I can't wait to see them on your car.

VHT Satin Black. Duplicolor only makes Gloss Black, from what I could find. I posted more pics of these a page or so back

Drag DR-9
I wonder if anyone has seen these. I got a set mounted on Zippy (MCS DS/B) yesterday. $105 ea. 15lbs.

Wotagame --- Need pics ASAP!!!!
PGT --- What are your thoughts on painting wheels then subjecting them to the temps generated at the track? I really like the Rota RB gunmetal but would probably want to paint the polished rim either Dark Silver or some other color. Just not a personal fan of the polished lip. But would the paints you use stand up to the very high heat levels the rims suffer at the track? If not, what would you recommend?

Drag DR-9
They appear to be similar to a wheel made by Sportmax. I think Palo Uber has a forged version. Oh and they are 17 X 7 with a 40mm offset. Found 'em at Discount Tire Direct.

I've used both Duplicolor and VHT wheel paints. They're formulated to be used on wheels with their heat cycling and corrosive position on the road. I'd think they'd be ok with track work, but no first-hand experience. I wouldn't think the finishes applied from the wheel manufacturer are any better in this respect and I don't see people bubbling the paint of their track wheels.
Worst case, use some hi-temp silicone based paint. If you get your brakes past 1200F, you need to take some driving classes
