A spacer is used on wheels that have a low offset, the spacer goes on the hub to push the wheel further out from the center point to gain clearance on the inside of the wheel.
Hub rings are used to match the inner hub diameter of a wheel to that of the mini hub. they come in a variety of sizes since the Inner diameter varies from wheel to wheel..

Those are soooo sweet. If I had $3k to drop on wheels, that's what I'd be getting. If they're reps, give us some close-ups and tell us where you got them!

They are the real deal, but Dan at MachV can get you replicas in 18x8 which look VERY close to the real deal as seen right above my post on the Clubman.

Here's my BBS LM reps. Got them off of VW Vortex from Hartmann wheels. They were a special run of 56.1 hub bore Mini-specific fittment. 17x7.5 +40 offset. Tires are Sumitomo HTR+ 235/40R17's. Oh, and the roofbox is an Atlantis 1600 that barely fits...

While I see where you're coming from, I wouldn't exactly call them fake BBS's because they aren't trying to be passed as the real deal. Not everyone can drop $2,500-3,000 for a set of LM's, not including tires. So long as a person isn't trying to pull them off as the real thing and puts BBS center caps on, I don't see why some people make such a HUGE deal over reps.

Downside to reps of nice wheels is that then everyone buys them and the wheel loses its "uniqueness" which is nice with wheels that the average person can't afford.

EDIT: M3NTAL's pic that isn't showing.

That's where I'm coming from. It just ruins it for anyone who has the real thing after you see countless low quality versions of the same wheel.

Just imagine if everyone started buying Kia's and dressing them up like Ferrari's.

Well if it makes you feel any better.. nobody I know even knows what a LM or even a BBS is...

A Mini enthusiast asked "are those 18's" and when I said no.. they kinda were disappointed hahahaha

By the same token doesn't it eventually get boring after seeing 100000000x Jetta's with RS's ? It's also what keeps enthusiasts searching for that 'new' rare wheel to fit.

If you had seen countless MINI's with RS's you wouldn't have put them on your Clubbie. My guess is you would've looked for a wheel that wasn't the norm. At that point, does it ultimately matter if they're original RS's or look-a-likes?

And that's not a good comparison. It'd be like if Kia designed a car to look like an F430 and released that. What you're saying is if someone purchased reps and labeled them like the real thing (which I'm completely against).

I'm sorry, but if everyone started to buy Kia's and dress them up like Ferrari's, while I'm the one with a real Ferrari, here's my mentality:

WHOSE'S THE BIG DOG WITH THE REAL FERRARI? ME! *VRROOOOOM*

If anything it's a bigger ego booster.

No offense to MINI enthusiasts, but most don't have a clue...
