Friendly reminder about the wheel finder tool I've built

Please see Browse WheelRacks to take a look at the display.

Please see Search WheelFinder to see just how detailed the search function can be.

The question comes up often about duplicating wheels already posted. Please do, the idea is that each MINI is unique and this way some performing a search can see just how the wheel may look on their particular color, or with this type of stripe...

I've written a little How-To guide: Wheel Rack - How Do I use the Wheel Rack

As a small token of thanks I'm sending everyone that enters data a sticker. Please Free* Motoring Alliance Stickers for details.

Thanks for your support in helping to build this feature into something the entire MINI Community can share.

I've had these wheels sitting in my garage for over a year. I didn't want to put them on until I needed new summer tires, and somehow, that took awhile.

They required hubcentric rings and tuner lugs, all of which I ordered separately from separate vendors, so I was sort of pleasantly surprised when everything went together and worked

They are Eagle Alloy 039s 16x7 with Kumho ASXes in 205/50/16. Really an inexpensive set-up (under $1000 for wheels, tires, rings/lugs, and install) but I love how it turned out.

I really like the white Superturismo WRC. I thought about getting them instead of the Alleggerita I have, but didn't because they are too heavy and would be too much of a PITA to keep clean.

Yep, they are a PITA to keep clean. You really have to....

1) Love your MINI and not mind spending the required time to keep them clean.

2) Have low-dust pads to keep you from going totally insane.

or....

Hate your MINI and not care what your wheels look like.

So I'm thinking of picking up these Rota Boost wheels in 16" for my R56. I'm not sure if I need 16x6.5 or 16x7 I think either will work? you tell me.

any thoughts?

Here are the specs - If I do grab these will I need to worry about the bore size and get a "washer" (probably not called washer) to put on there?

options are:
Specs: 16x7 4x100 +40mm offset 67.1mm bore
Specs: 16x6.5 4x100 +45mm offset 56.1mm bore

thanks for the help btw

both those sizes should fit
the mini has 56.1mm bore so you wouldn't need a washer (called a hubcentric ring) for the 6.5 ones

as for picking:
i would choose based on what tire size you want to run
or if you want to run in H-stock SCCA etc

Thanks for the info. If I wanted to put rims with a bore size of 67.1 I would just buy hub centric rings with an inner diameter of 56.1mm and outside diameter of 67.1 ? I see plastic and aluminum. What do most people use?

Also does a +40mm vs +45mm offset make a difference? Can you tell I'm new to aftermarket wheels? Thanks again.

yup that is what you would want

both plastic and aluminum are widely used
both have pros and cons

personally i have used plastic on street/autoX/track and haven't had any issues with them melting or being hard to remove (i clean them each time i rotate my tires ~2,000 miles) <- track days are hard on the front tires

i got plastic cuz they were cheaper

look up-page to see how I feel about white wheels on CR MINIs.

If you're not OCD at all about your MINI, white wheels will work for you. They'll soon be black and you'll be happy.

If your'e extremely OCD about your MINI, white wheels will work for you. You'll spend 20 minutes a day cleaning them and you'll be happy.

If you fall anywhere in between, stay away from white wheels.

And if you do get them, make sure you have low-dust pads also.

The Tenzos come in other colors... maybe try gunmetal if you're afraid of the white (and with good reason).

That's a good option... for the weak-hearted.

But for eye-popping, show-car, stunning appearance, white wheels are IT. (at least on CR/White)

I like the white Tenzo's...the only other color that wouldn't be at least a little bit of a PIA would be black. right?

I want to know, who is a good vendor to get brands not carried by Tire Rack?
