No. The second gen Mini are supposed to be even easier than my 2006. I just used a heat gun. Ran it around the seal for a few minutes and started prying at it with a flat head wrapped in tap as to not chew up the plastic. Came open fairly easy. The main thing is just patients! TAKE YOUR TIME TAKE YOUR TIME. If you mess it up you're up ---- creek. But like I said, should be easier than mine, and I just went off of one of the MANY DIY joey mod threads.

Good luck.

mini

hello i just got my mini and i am wanting to do alot of stuff to it. One thing is finding rims and tires. I really want to get black rims because i want to bring more black in my car. Im also looking to get new tires. Im wanting to get 215/45/17 and 17 inch rims. What is a good tire and what is a good rim?
Thank you

Lots and lots of options. You can review sites like mine for MINI Specific Wheels in 17" sizes, plus other advertisers on here as well. Plus this thread shows a ton of options. Find a few styles you like and go from there.

If you have any questions, let me know, or this group know! Love helping new people to NAM when I can!

Hello Adam!
Mty name is Wagner from Brazil!
1st of all, orry about my english, ok?
I sent the link with my R53 / 18 "/ red lips and polished too.
What dou you think about the 25mm wheel spacers?
I talk with Chris Cone about 15% pulley and 2% crank pulley... Do I have to modify more engine configures if only change this parts?
I'm thinking about to buy the "H&R Sport Springs for Cooper "S" ... Can I change only the coils to douwn my mini?
Thank you so verty much for your attention, bro!

wagner

Here are my new Konig Feathers from Alta laced up with Bridgestone Potenza G 019 Grids in 215/45/17

Alta (Jarid) was top notch and I'd certainly recommend and will be using again in the future

17 x 7 Konig Feathers in silver w/ Kumho Ecsta XS KU36 215/45/17, I decided not go with flat black rims because that seems the most popular choice among black mini owners. I'll post better photos this coming weekend.

From a charity car show from this past weekend.

I like the contrast with the black. Not everyone needs the murdered out look!
