Brake size. 2nd gen Cooper S brakes are the same as 1st gen JCW. You may be able to find a set of 15's that can fit, but none of the OEM MINI wheels will.

It's not elitist as much as it's moral. The replica companies are partaking in copyright infringement, which is a crime. They're stealing sales and money from hard working companies such as BBS, OZ, etc. Replica wheels are often a much lower quality and are more prone to damage. In the end, this will only hurt the wheel world as it detracts from the quality companies that are working hard to innovate within the wheel market.

I personally don't support replica wheel companies because I don't respect companies who succeed by stealing from other quality businesses.

Some of you may have seen my other post of my wheels but here they are. First set was heavy JCW R105's 18" w/215/35/18 Neo Gens's, second set 17" Motegi SP10's Hyper Black w/215/40/17 Nitto Neo Gens, third set SP10's in Black with Falken 452's 215/45/17. Three sets in as many months. I cant ever make up my mind.

Your post is about morals and i support your stance. Not the case of the posts i have read. Some posts are plain poking fun at the expense of other owners. It is elitist IMO. at one point we all have used something to replicate another. Replicas are not exclusive to wheels. Even high end wheel companies try to replicate each other, just look at some similarities in designs.

Not the best looking setup, but they work very well in the Winter, Sport edition F7s Painted Black Chrome with General Altimax Artic 205 55 16

Very nice, if you ever want to sell those black 17's I would love to take them off of you...you know, if you decide to change them again.

Thinking the same style/setup for my eclipse grey/black MCS

Thanks. I get good deals on wheels and tires so that's one of the reasons I change all the time. If you are local to me I can hook you up. Whats strange is the inside lip of the wheel is silver. I dont know why they did that. It still looks good though.

Not local but PM me and we can talk. How do the Nitto's compare to the Falkens?

I only had the Nittos for 150 miles and they were great. The Falkens have a much better ride because of the taller sidewall. Both are great tires and they are inexpensive.

These wheels and the car looks nice. I am looking to get the exact set for my 09 MCS. What components should I be ordering with this set? Do I need Lug nuts, TPMS kit and the sensors? How about the hub centric rings? I am looking to get the 17's.

thank you,

Thanks on the compliment. The wheels will come with lugs and and hub centric rings. If you want TPMS sensors you will have to buy those extra or take them off your factory wheels and put them on your new wheels. The car is now lowered with coilovers and I have spacers on the front wheels and then swaybar end links on both the front and rear and lower adjustable control arms in the rear.

Good point Rally, people should stay away from replicas. Stick to high-quality bootlegs. lol, but seriously I wouldn't dare do my daily commute on expensive wheels. The BQE & FDR have "potholes" the size of black holes. If I'm not paying attention some day and destroy a wheel, it won't hurt that bad. Besides, I'll have more money left over for power mods

A. BBS LM's would be stronger and less likely to fail than Rota's which are prone to cracking and shattering when damaged.

B. BBS LM's are REAL 2 piece wheels and if you were to damage them, they would only cost a fraction of the original price because you could just swap out the damaged barrel for a new one. That's one of the big benefits of true split wheels.

I can totally appreciate sticking to an affordable wheel, but it's easy to find affordable wheels that AREN'T stolen replicas.

I totally agree with you, dude, but as my first set of wheels I think I'm fine. Plus, I think the cost of wheels should somewhat correlate with the price of the car. I love my car, but I know it's limitations, its base price is $18K for a reason. And now to throw $3K+ wheels on it............Around here we call that hood-rich. I love LM's, but they're just too rich for my blood. I need to "graduate" to real LM's on my next car, hopefully in a 1-series lol

Hood-rich. Love it. Nice ride. Don't think I've ever seen a MINI that low. How is it as a daily driver?
