18x8 Looks good on 2nd gens in my opinion. What offset are you looking at?

X2...looks good on the 2nd gen Mini. Offset is critical. Is your car on stock suspension?

I believe this guy is on here - might want to hunt him down for information or you can contact CCW as I think they hold the data for all their customer sets. I know his car is in the CCW website so you can reference him to see how you can do a staggered setup.

NP. They're sweet wheels and I'm planning to pick up a set in the future. They're just so darn expensive, I worry I'd lose my manhood and cry like a little baby if I ever curb or bend them

I was thinking of getting some 18x8 Konig Illusion's but now I'm not sure, any pictures of 18" rims on an r53? I can find plenty of 17" ones :P

it really depends on your taste. you could go as low as 20/25, but thats pretty pokey. Imo et30 +/- 2 is best for both 8 and 8.5". Anything less then et35 on the 8.5" and you will run into inner clearance issues.

Has anyone ever used Drag Extreme Alloy wheels. I am looking at 17x7 DR-19 (GLOSS BLACK, GUN METAL, CHROME, SILVER).

Has anyone used them? Have they had any problems? Are they a good quality wheel?

Thanks

...I have Drag (DR-20's), ..got em' a little over a year ago..no problems with them. ...for the price..are nice looking wheels..for just cruising around.(I wouldn't put em' to track use)

..there's a few pics of drags...including the 19's..somewhere back in this long thread...

Should work...so long as you don't get fat tires. You may have to stretch your tires a bit.

Lip should be the same as posted above. 1.5"

Thanks for the response. I found the other posts on the DR 19. I have not heard anything bad about them. Now I have to pick the tires to go with them.

Thanks

Opinions on these center caps...

I've never liked the centercaps that came with my aftermarket wheels...they stick out too far.

...wanted some more flush sitting, so today I made a diy cap...and stuck the Mini decal on.

I thought they look decent...till my wife came out in the garage...frowned & told me they would look better completely flush..as opposed to slightly recessed as came out...

...before & after pics, ..what do you guys think?

Much better than before, good job.

I dont think completely flush would be a big enough change to fiddle with them. The before pics remind me of the wheel spikes on Roman chariots.

Thanks.

..and yeah, before they were kinda Roman chariot-ish, ...maybe I should've attached some blades coming off them...like from the movie Gladiator, ..a suprise for big vehicles that come over into my lane

Much improved. The originals looked like a goats teet. Your version draws attention to the wheel design,....instead of the hub.
