I opted to replace the stock 16-inch 5-stars with S-Lites , as I really, really like the way they look. I just had 205/45/17 Toyo T1Rs installed and like them so far (only 15 miles!).

yeah ... I have recently put S lites on the MC also and it gives it something ... some umph ... besides the weight issue, the S-lites are cool looking wheels.

Nice LY MC

That's what I ended up doing...I bought after-market wheels...ended up not liking them...(duh!) and sold them for $200 less two weeks later...

Ended up putting my T1-R's on my S-lites and have been very happy with them.....(except they don't last.......mine were nice and feathered all along the edges, on the fronts especially, after about 100km!!! ).....

Very sticky tires though! Shame for the people behind you....I've thrown some serious stones on some cruises....

I have to agree. Probally the best looking cooper I've seen. I can tell a lot of time and planning went into this beutiful creation. What kind of springs do you have, it looks like the perfect drop?

lurch70 and benthevegan: You just made my freakin' year! I've spent a lot of time in the car, obviouslly (since when I got it, it was COMPLETELY STOCK) I'm talkin' about not even fog lights or rear spoiler stock. Nothing, and now, (three years later), almost every piece in the car has been modified or changed, or "personalized". And I'm not done yet. So I appreciate your comment!! Thank you kindly.

benthevegan only: The springs are H&R, dropping the front by 1" and rear by 1.5". Ride is awesome, but yes, you can feel it in the bumps.

To come: Sport exhaust (still debating on Remus, mymini, or Sebring), JCW style rear lights, drilled front/rear brakes, trying to score a good price on sport seats, turbo-kit hopefully if they ever produce a great quality one, front splitter/spoiler (also debating), Peter from m7 is almost talking me into a throttle body (but that's expensive), and after that's done, I'm sure they'll have more items on the market for me to want... lol. My pops gonna kill me, spending all my money on the car... He likes how it looks, though.

Again, thank you guys.
Motor on,
Leo.

Leo ... I really like your style. Love clean mods like that, no flash, just classy but still hella mean.

I have the Remus Sport exhaust on my 03 MC, and I heartily recommend it. The note it puts out would complement your looks, if you can imagine that ... (check my gallery for some pics)

Where did you get those wheels? I cannot seem to find any info on them anywhere.

Hey man, thanks! I see you got some fashion there, too. lol. I have already heard a guy with a Remus, and let me tell you - loved it. But the thing is, for half the price, I can get the Sebring from mymini (friend owns the shop, guy's Pete - great fella) and he promised me the sound/gains are almost identical. I wanna hear it/see it first, of course.

About the wheels, good luck finding them! I bought them from tirerack about 2 years ago, and to be honest, I think ASA stopped fabrication on them. I found some on Ebay about a year or so back, but only in Silver. Whites are rare, and a couple of years from now, they should be worth some dough on the Antique Road Show or something like that. Only paid $1,200.00 for wheels and tires (Yokohama ES100s) when I got them. Mounted and balanced.

Thank you again for the kind remarks, man.
Leo.

that Remus exhaust can be had for about $200 on eBay (got mine from there) or around these parts NEW ... I think Remus stopped making them for the MC ... but you can find it pretty easily.

Shame about those wheels ...

Just playing, man. It was about Pete's exhausts (mymini). I was looking into the mymini sport exhaust ($399), or his Sebring system ($259) + something else to make it go faster. lol. A lot of people have told me his touring system is fantastic, but for $450 bucks, I'd rather get the Sebring and a Throttle Body and end up paying about the same. The Remus I found on Ebay for $300, but it was the Double-exhaust (originally what I wanted, but now got the Aero rear bumper, and won't work)...

Anywhoo, thanks again, Joker!

right-on,

-TB & exhaust sounds good d0oD...
should check if the oval tip on his exhaust fills the openin' in the 'aero' apron NiCE & snug cuz i think the openin' is larger than that on the stock S...
.....unless u dont care!?!?!

New Motegi Racing Wheels

A friend of mine had his hands on these today and cut me an incredible deal, could not pass. They are kind of heavy w/17.8 ibs on each corner, but better than S-lites.

I love the Hyper blue and the black wheels together. I've been trying to find a good picture of this color combo but until now I've been unsucessful. This picture really makes me feel better about painting my wheels black, now I know it will look good . Are these flat black, gloss black ect...?

I agree. Now it is time for carbonfiber mirror covers, hood scoop and front splitter, blackened beltline and smoked tail light, side markers.
